450SX Class: Anaheim Stats

The first race was held on December 4, 1976, and Marty Smith won on a Honda

This race marks the 60th time the gate will drop for a 450SX Class race in Anaheim

Anaheim holds the record for most Monster Energy Supercross races held and will become the first venue to host 60 races

· Anaheim has the most first time winners with nine

· Chad Reed will be going for his seventh win in Anaheim

· James Stewart will be going for his 10th win in Anaheim

· Ryan Villopoto won both Anaheim races last season, can he win two of the three this year?

· Can points leader Davi Millsaps win two races in Anaheim?

· In 26 years of racing, the winner of opening race did not win the second race of the season. Stewart was the last racer to win the first two races of the season (2007). In 1975, Jimmy Ellis became the first racer to win the first two races of the season.

· Reed earned his 120th podium finish at the second race at Angel Stadium

450SX Class: Oakland Recap

· Villopoto earned his 26th 450SX Class victory and is now first on Kawasaki’s all-time 450SX Class win list. In Oakland; Villopoto passed Stewart on this list.

· One more victory for Villopoto and he will be tied with Bob Hannah at 27, sixth on the all-time 450SX Class win list

· Villopoto is the first repeat winner of 2013. In the previous 39 seasons, the first rider to repeat victories has gone on to win the championship 25 times.

· Millsaps keeps his points lead with his third podium of the season with a second; he has finished top four in each of the first four races this season

· KTM’s Ryan Dungey earned his second podium of the season; in 53 career starts, he has 37 podium finishes

· Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard earned his fourth top five-finish and is second in season point standings

· Mike Alessi earned his best finish of the season with a fifth; it was his first top five of the season

· Chad Reed earned a 12th-place finish in Oakland. In 152 career 450SX Class starts, Reed has only finished out of the top-10 seven times.

· Justin Barcia finished 20th for the second consecutive week. These two 20th place finishes follow right after his first career victory.

· Stewart has now gone five consecutive races without a podium; he hasn’t been on the podium since Daytona of last season

· Matt Goerke now has back-to-back top-10 finishes for the first time in his career

· Vince Friese earned the first top-10 finish of his career with a ninth place finish

250SX Class: Anaheim Stats

· The first race was held on February 2, 1985 and Mike Healy won on a Suzuki

· This will be the 52nd time the gate will drop for a 250SX Class race in Anaheim

· Honda swept both races in Anaheim last season with Cole Seeley and Justin Barcia

· Eli Tomac could give Honda another Anaheim 250SX Class sweep with a victory this weekend

· Ken Roczen finished in second place at the first two stops at Angel Stadium

· Tomac earned the 10th win of his career at the second race in Anaheim and is now tied with Ivan Tedesco and Mickael Pichon on the all-time 250SX Class win list

· Cole Seely and Ken Roczen are the only riders to finish within the top five at the first four races

Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen earned the third win of his career in Oakland; he has now gone three consecutive seasons with a win

In 23 career starts, Roczen has 16 top-five finishes

KTM has now won a 250SX Class race during three consecutive seasons

Eli Tomac, who came to Oakland with the points lead, finished in last place and lost the points lead to Roczen

In 24 career starts, Tomac has only finished out of the top-10 twice, including his finish in Oakland

Cole Seeley earned his third podium of the year with a second-place finish

Jason Anderson earned the first podium finish of his career; he is now fifth in the season point standings

This is the first time in Roczen’s career that he has held the points lead

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki has not gone without a win in this division since 2001; in 2008, they did not win until the seventh race of the season.
