Honda is producing a
number of race-ready Supersport machines for the 2002 season to assist all
levels of racer in their search for competitive machinery. The 600cc machines, based on the CBR600F Sport model, are being prepared at Honda's race team headquarters in he UK, and are on sale at £14,500 plus VAT. The machines feature:
Plus a host of bolt-on extras now being produced at the Louth facility, home of Honda's World championship effort. Honda's UK racing co-ordinator Roger Harvey said: 'This is a project we've been trying to get under way for some time, we've finally made a plan and we're all very excited about its potential.' He added: 'Within 24 hours of placing the first orders with the engine tuner we had sold six of the machines. At the price we're selling the machines for I'm sure most Supersport riders will look seriously at what's on offer. 'It's about a £25,000 package which we're offering at £14,500 and that includes spare wheels and a limited spares kit.' The package also includes, free of charge, an opportunity for the customer to receive assistance from Honda's World championship team technicians at an initial test day - to assist with base settings. Each machine comes with data sheets, set-up information and a list of product suppliers. Harvey added: 'If you were to start from scratch and build a machine to this specification it would probably take around two months to complete and around 200 phone calls and could easily cost double the price that we're offering these machines at. 'We're trying to make life that little bit easier for Honda customers to get a competitive machine for the race track.' For further information please contact Roger Harvey on +44 (0)1889 583349 |
