The 2002 748 range
remains unchanged for 2002, except for a new titanium gray colour with red
wheel rims a new option on the S version.
Unchanged, with respect to last year, the 748 range engines are as
follows.
- A 748cc Desmoquattro, with max power of 97 HP at 11,000 rpm and a max
torque of 7.4 kgm at 9,000 rpm, on the basic and S versions.
- A 748cc Desmoquattro, with max power of 106 HP at 11,500 rpm and a max
torque of 7.6 kgm at 9,000 rpm, on the R version.
Suspension on the 2002
748 range remains unchanged from 2001. The 748R model features a
chrome-molybdenum frame, with thinner walls compared to the rest of the
Superbike family, used in Supersport championship races.
Forks are fully
adjustable, (Showa on the basic version and S, Ohlins on the R), with TiN
treatment on the S and R versions. The rear suspension features a
Sachs rear shock on the basic version, Showa on the S and Ohlins on the R,
all fully adjustable.

are
- New smooth fairings (in techno-polymer on all the versions except for
the 998R, featuring a carbon fairing)
- New fairing decal, featuring the version of each model
- New tail piece graphics, differentiated depending on the version
- New tail piece decals, with the wording 'Ducati Superbike'
- New tank decal, featuring the Italian flag and no. 1 encircled in a
laurel wreath

- Rearview mirrors which match the color of the fairing
- New titanium gray color with red wheels and reflective decals
