Australian distributors for MV Agusta, The Paul Feeney Group, took delivery of the Italian-built 750cc machines at its Gold Coast premises this week and they will soon be available from authorised dealers nationwide in a red-and-silver colour combination. The four-stroke, 16-valve Evo II engine generates 100.7kW at 12,600rpm, an increase of approximately 7kW compared to the original F4S model, which was launched in Italy in 1998 and was first available in Australia the following year. Group Managing Director Paul Feeney test rode the updated MV Agusta F4S over 150km near Imola during a visit to Italy in September, and said he had noticed considerable gains in engine performance. "I rode the bike on fast, open roads and through some tighter areas, and MV Agusta have clearly made what was already a strong engine even better," said Feeney. "The pistons have been changed with more compression, and there is different fuel mapping for improved performance." "Straight away I noticed more torque in the bottom end, and it keeps going right through the rev range." "At the same time the F4S retains the handling characteristics you would expect from a top-of-the-range high-performance sports bike, and it stops and turns better than ever." Feeney said that even with the improved engine performance, the recommended retail price of the updated F4S in Australia would remain at $28,990 (GST inclusive), the same price as the original model. "This represents excellent value-for-money for customers," concluded Feeney. Specifications
