Suzuki VL 800

The new VL800 Intruder from Suzuki delivers traditional cruiser styling coupled with the benefits of modern engineering.

A wide, low fuel tank carries 16 litres of fuel which should make those longer journeys less troublesome.  A tank mounted speedometer complete with an LCD fuel gauge, clock and indicator lights sits in an attractive binnacle.

A down tube cradle frame combines progressive single-shock rear suspension with traditional rigid-tail looks and rides on a 1,645mm wheelbase which is the longest in it's class.

Power of course comes from a 45° V-Twin.  The VL800's engine displaces 805cc and has offset crank pins for smoother running.  Each cylinder head carries a single overhead camshaft which operates four valves per cylinder.  Liquid cooling helps keep the show composed in all conditions.  A single 34mm carburettor supplies the go-juice and is linked to a 3D mapped digital ignition system makes sure it all gets burnt efficiently.  The VL800 make more torque below 5,000rpm than any Suzuki cruiser under 1,400cc has ever made.  Peak torque it is an incredibly low 2,500rpm.

A 5-speed gearbox ensures the VL 800 turns less than 4,000rpm when cruising at 100kph.  Shaft drive takes away the need for any messing around with chains and such.

The staggered dual exhaust system are chrome and sit on the right-hand side of the motorcycle.
