Triumph aims
to build on success of the 'America' model the British manufacturer
introduces the new 'Speedmaster' for 2003.Built on the same low-slung chassis and powered by the 790cc twin-cylinder engine, the Speedmaster is tailored for riders who like their cruisers to have a more hot-rod feel. Triumph’s 270-degree crank, DOHC, eight-valve engine provides the power and this time it breathes out via dual, deep-chromed pipes. The riding position too, is slightly more aggressive. Flat bars on risers pull back from the slab top-yoke and matched to heavy-chrome forward pegs, the rider sits snug in a gunfighter-style seat with scalloped support. The tachometer is housed in the tank nacelle, where it’s visible at a quick glance, directly beneath the white-faced speedo angled back into the rider’s eye view from its top-yoke mounting.
