Honda Motorcycles Australia is
pleased to announce an association with Jimmy Barnes that sees
Jimmy as Honda’s ambassador for the cruiser range including the
new shaft drive VT750C. The name Jimmy Barnes has been a legend in the Australian rock and roll scene since the days when Cold Chisel pumped out a series of hits that many Aussies almost consider national anthems! Like many of the current generation of cruiser riders Jimmy had a late start to his motorcycling career. Jimmy completed a rider training course at HART (Honda Australia Rider Training) late last year and has immediately appreciated the freedom motorcycling offers. Not long after getting his motorcycle licence Jimmy was showing his support to the motorcycling community when he attended and performed at the Snowy Ride charity event held at Thredbo (NSW) in November 2003. With such a diverse range of motorcycles in the Honda range Jimmy has sampled a number of different models to find which suits him best. He settled on the new 2004 year model VT750C. At a recent photo shoot with Jimmy and the Honda cruiser range we discovered something about his background that lends a lot of credibility to his “Working Class Man” persona. With the photo shoot taking place in the hot environment of a metal foundry in industrial Melbourne Jimmy got talking to a couple of the workers and explained how his first job was working in a railway foundry back in Adelaide when he was just 16 years old. After slogging it out for several months in one of the hardest working environments imaginable, Jimmy cut loose from the 9 to 5 working world to start up a band with his brother and a few mates. Cold Chisel was born shortly after and they went on to become Australian rock legends. Jimmy Barnes will appear in Honda’s print advertising campaign for the new shaft drive VT750C which will be released onto the market this month for a RRP of $10,990 (incl GST + ORC). |
