Motorcycle Road Show to hit Melbourne next weekend

There's no two ways about it, Australians love their motorcycles. It’s a past time where age is of little boundary, whether 7 or 70, male or female, there’s a model out there that’s just right for everyone, to suit any interest or budget.

Whether it’s a daily commute to work on a nimble and fuel-efficient scooter, a blast through bush trails on a terrain-hungry trail bike, a holeshot on a pocket-rocket at the kids’ local motocross meet or a cruise into the sunset on a classy custom, there is a passion that unites all moto enthusiasts.

As a prelude to the Australian Grand Prix, locals can get their fix of motorcycle action from October 5-7, as the nation’s most comprehensive roadshow of motorcycles, scooters, ATVS, products, services and trade publications, the Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne, takes the city by storm.

15,000 square metres of the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre will be transformed into a showcase of exclusive new models and products, along with amazing freestyle motocross shows from Yamaha Showtime and Crusty Demons stars and trial riding demonstrations, not to mention an extensive range of interactive shows and competitions.

Visitors can enter to win a zippy new Yamaha YW100-BEEWEE Scooter, the perfect transport solution for city-dwellers. Also up for grabs are highly sought-after tickets to the Phillip Island MotoGP showdown, an event where our Aussie riders, including the recently-crowned world champ Casey Stoner, are expected to excel once again.

The doors will burst open at 10am on Friday October 5, with a number of exciting new motorcycle launches set to feature throughout the day. The festivities will continue through into Saturday and Sunday, a fantastic and affordable way to spend the weekend with family and friends.

Meet Aussie MotoGP sensation Chris Vermeulen, one of the hottest properties on the world stage this year. Fresh from a Grand Prix victory and numerous podium placings, Chris is gearing up for his local race with a visit to the premier Melbourne event, and is set to appear across all three days to sign autographs and chat with fans.

The state-of-the-art Yamaha display is set to feature an incredible drawcard for visitors – the actual race bike of the world’s most successful modern MotoGP rider, Valentino Rossi. Marvel at the multi-million dollar masterpiece, the product of many thousands of hours of development and testing.

Melbournites can be the first to catch a glimpse at some of the most anticipated new models to hit the market, with exclusive unveilings by iconic manufacturers including Harley-Davidson, MV Agusta, Husqvarna, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, BMW Motorrad, Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia, Arqin, Triumph, Hyosung, Piaggio, CanAm, and many more.
