-- Honda & Suzuki ASBK with Dunlop Dunlop Tyres is expecting to continue its winning form in the Australian Superbike Championship with the announcement that they have been selected as the tyre of choice for both the PTR Suzuki and Motologic Honda race teams in next year's ASBK Championships. The 2013 Championship series has opened the door to other tyre manufacturers for the first time in four years and Dunlop, Michelin and Pirelli have stepped forward to take part in next year's series. Despite the new open-tyre format, two of the three primary factory superbike teams - PTR Suzuki & the Motologic prepared Team Honda Racing - have decided to continue their enduring relationship with Dunlop. Following extensive testing of tyres from all manufacturers taking part in the 2013 ASBK series, Team Honda Racing has elected to compete on the Dunlop slicks to ensure they are competitive against the other teams using Dunlop tyres. Meanwhile, PTR Suzuki will be aiming to continue their incredible form following last season's Championship title by also signing on to use the Dunlop tyres. "With the series moving to an open-tyre format and inviting other manufacturers to participate, it means that we really get to show what Dunlop tyres are made of against the other brands. We’re looking forward to this challenge,” said Ken Wieden, Dunlop Motorcycle & Motorsport Manager. "The confidence both the Suzuki and Honda teams have shown in Dunlop tyres is an incredible endorsement and indicative of the performance recognition we strive for through our focus on innovation." Dunlop motorcycle racing tyres have played an integral role in Australian Road Racing and hold the majority of Australian Superbike and Supersport 600 lap record on most circuits in Australia. They also have a proven track record for being consistent and fast when compared with competitor brands in open class tyre competition. |
