-- Brisbane Motorcycle Expo cancelled
Unprecedented support for this year's Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show is being
touted by organisers as the reasong for cancelling the Brisbane Motorcycle Expo,
scheduled to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from
February 7-9, 2014, the organisers announced today.
Exhibition & Trade Fairs confirmed its decision to cancel the Brisbane event as
a result of the increasing challenges in staging popular motorcycle expos in the
region, contrasted by a massive uptake by exhibitors in Sydney's event, set for
15 to 17 November.
The 2013 Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition
Centre is already sold out.
"Sydney's success has just underlined that that is where the industry wants to
be, plus Melbourne of course, so we've made an early call to fold Brisbane and
instead focus on Australia's two main and strongest markets, said Exhibition &
Trade Fairs, Managing Director, Gary Daly.
Along with the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show later this year, Exhibition &
Trade Fairs will now concentrate on its well-established and successful
Melbourne events, the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show in August and RACV
Motorclassica in October.
"Both the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show and Motorclassica are set for their best
years yet, with more entrants and exhibitors than ever before, and lots of new
products and displays," Gary Daly said.
"While it is disappointing to make the call on Brisbane, we respect the right of
exhibitors to change strategy, while we will focus our efforts on those events
which deliver maximum value for all stakeholders."
