-- Batchelor on track to take Australian Solo Speedway crown Troy Batchelor has cemented himself as the front-runner for the 2013 Australian Solo Speedway Championship crown after sweeping the second round of the series at Undera Park Speedway on Wednesday night. The Queenslander led proceedings from start to finish, taking an unbeatable 12 point heat score before claiming the A Final from rivals Dakota North and Cameron Woodward. The fourth finalist, Davey Watt, had to settle for fourth place after engine trouble ruled him out of the final. With the first two rounds of the series and a perfect score of 40 under his belt, Batchelor holds an eight point lead heading into the final round at Kurri Kurri this Saturday night. With the point advantage in hand, Batchelor just needs to secure a berth in the B final to take the crown and his maiden national title. The on-track heat at Kurri Kurri will be turned up to boiling, with a talented field of riders including Dakota North (32 points), Cameron Woodward (32 points), Justin Sedgmen (28 points), Davey Watt (27 points) and Rohan Tungate (26 points) hot on Batchelor’s tail. The third and final round of the 2013 Australian Solo Speedway will take place tomorrow Saturday 12 January at Kurri Kurri Speedway in New South Wales. Gates open at 1pm with practice from 4pm-5pm and racing from 7pm. Entry for adults and children over 16 is $25, concession $10, children 10 to 16 $5 and children under 10 free.
