Bernie Hatton established Top Rider in 1985 and since then the school has gone from strength to strength now handling an incredible share of Queensland market for learners and pre-licence tuition along with a variety of advanced courses for the more experienced.

Each Top Rider training course has been designed by Bernie himself. A true motorcycle expert, Bernie comes from a family with a strong motorcycling tradition and has been involved in all aspects of the sport from a very young age. Top Rider is a registered Q Ride service provider.

Courses and Track Days

Track Days - An awesome way to get the most out of motorcycling and life. A Top Rider track day will give you the safest possible environment to hone your riding skills with controlled, 'slow', 'medium' or 'fast' sessions, with a doctor and paramedic in attendance at all time. Rider numbers are limited to manageable numbers with instruction available. Fun Factor 10 out of 10.  Lunch is provided. If you book in but the weather prevents you from getting out and enjoying yourself then you will be credited another day.  Darlington Park is the chief venue for these events but Top Rider also conducts these fun days at Norwell, Warwick, Queensland Raceway, Eastern Creek and Phillip Island.

Braking & Cornering course - Master the art of cornering with a dynamic braking & cornering system for entry and exit of turns. Upgrade your riding skills in a fun, safe environment.

Race School - Time to began to learn how to fly! The Top Rider 'Race School' will provide you with all the skills you need to stay upright and cross the line ahead of the pack. If you are even thinking about racing on two wheels then this should be your first port of call.

Top Rider has trained the likes of 1998 Australian 250 Production Championship winner Anthony West. In doing so 'Westy' became the youngest ever Australian Champion. He also recently became the first Australian rider to win a World 250 Grand Prix for 25 years. Anthony had this to say about Top Rider, "Bernie is the best coach I could ask for. Because of his expertise and Top Rider's courses I'm now riding with the best, if you want to be able to ride with the best, go see Top Rider." Other riders who have honed their craft with Top Rider include Broc Parkes, Chris Vermeulen, Brendan Clarke and Jamie Stauffer.

Upcoming Events

** There are only a couple of spots remaining in the 'Race School' scheduled for Eastern Creek on August 16th. A two-day Cornering & Braking Course followed by a 'Race School' is also available as a package at Eastern Creek over August 16-17.  Or you can just do a Braking & Cornering Course on the 16th or elect to only do the track day sessions (including racers) on the 17th.
