Walker and Izutsu to race for Kawasaki in 2002 World SuperBike Championship

The Kawasaki World SuperBike Team have announced their 2002 rider line-up will consist of Japanese Superbike Champion Hitoyasu Izutsu with Chris Walker completing the two bike team.

Chris is no stranger to the four-cylinder Kawasaki Superbike, but this will be his first full season in the World Superbike Championship. Chris returns to the fold for Kawasaki after a stint with Suzuki and in Grand Prix.

Chris said, “I really can’t believe it at the moment. This year didn’t quite work out for me and now I’ve got the chance to do a good job and possibly make up for some unfinished business in Grand Prix. At the test I was just trying to get some miles under my belt, as it’s been a while since I rode last. The bike feels really good and much more refined since I last rode for Kawasaki. At the moment I haven’t been able to sleep much as all I want is start riding!”
