- Other notes -
Damian is returning in 2002 after breaking his back and being told he
would never race again. Has experienced plenty of ups and downs
before the 2002 season gets underway with contractual negotiations
ending in disappointment more than once. First he was linked with
Suzuki to team with Shawn Giles but that was knocked on the head only
weeks before he was due to debut. Then Kawasaki offered him a
Formula Xtreme only deal but Damian became nervous once again when no
contract was produced in a timely fashion so instead has elected to once
again give the show a go on a Yamaha R1 with some support from BikeBiz
and Motul.
