Husqvarna’s new 2010 Motocrossers Tested By, Mark Willis TC 450 The 2010 TC450 has come in for a range of updates like its redesigned little brother. It has also switched from Marzocchi forks to the 48mm Inverted Kayaba’s, and features the same 15mm shorter swing arm and in mould decorated plastics. It also has a re-inforced frame and new radiator hoses to help keep the engine cool. Unlike its little sibling the TC450 starts almost first kick every time. It does, however, lack the agility of the some of the other 450 motocross bikes on the market and feels quite heavy to manoeuvre. The horsepower that this bike produces is quite incredible and it has no problem in making you swing off the back like a rag doll! This was quite a surprise for me as I have ridden earlier model Husky 450’s and was not so impressed with their power. This bike definitely doesn’t suffer from power issues. It steers well and is relatively good on the suspension department, but could maybe do with some sort of flywheel weight to help smooth the aggressive power delivery a little. Taking into consideration we were on quite a tight motocross track that was much more suited to the 250, the 450 performed well overall. It just lacks the general engine smoothness that its Japanese fuel injected counterparts offer. Like the TC250 the new model TC 450 has also benefited from a price deduction with the introductory price set at $11,495, $500 lower than last year. -- Image Pictorial TC250 -- Image Pictorial TC450 |
