---Post event---

25 more pictures have been added to the image section. (Fri', July 19)

All the riders that we profiled have now been entered on to the site.  They number 89 in total. (Wed', July 17)

---Saturday---

The final day of competition was run under the best conditions of the week with only a couple of light showers passing through during the day.  The finals were run on the modified shorter track that riders also raced on during Friday.

In the day's last final, Bryan Staring and Kym Wright swapped places a few times.  A small amount of controversy surrounded the result though as Kym Wright actually finished the race in front but did not cross the finish line and actually went just outside the track.  Officials still gave Wright the win due to the fact that they allowed for him changing his line some 30 yards earlier to avoid another rider.  If Staring had been given the win he would have been champion as he already led on points but Wright was given the nod and with it the championship.  Going strictly by the rule book it would seem that Staring and HRA would have had a good case for a protest but declined to lodge such a protest in the interests of the sport.

---Friday---

Conditions varied from scattered showers to sunshine at Chidlow.  The track was altered for today's finals with a couple of short sections of track deleted from the circuit by bobcat.  This was due to the amount of deep standing water at some parts of the circuit which was deemed hazardous to rider safety.

The finals commenced today.  Again there were some scoring problems today, the mud covering the bikes making the job of the scorers immensely difficult.  Trying to keep track of, or identify, the riders was extremely hard to say the least.

Summary of results - These scores are the points scores so far in the finals.  Competition wraps up tomorrow (Sat').  Some classes still have one final left to run while others still have two finals left.

---Thursday---

Conditions again varied from scattered showers to heavy downpours at Chidlow.  A few more crashes today as things got a little more serious but no really serious injuries were reported.

Due to the conditions a halt has been put to competition between the 50cc machines as some of the ruts and puddles were deep enough for them to get lost in.  Conditions will probably be much the same tomorrow.

Some classes had heats between sets of riders in the same class due to big entry numbers.  Other classes did not have any heats today.  Some classes had multiple heats.  We had a little bit of trouble with results today so please treat the Thursday results as strictly provisional.

---Wednesday---

Conditions varied from scattered showers to very heavy downpours at Chidlow today.  Nonetheless the fearless little gladiators soldiered on and did their best.  The conditions meant no rider could take advantage of any supposed performance advantage from their machinery, a true leveller.  Great entertainment, some of the kids showed incredible bike control skills and made this old hack realise just how totally devoid of talent he is.

Summary of results - Some classes had heats between sets of riders in the same class due to big entry numbers.  Other classes did not have any heats today.  Some classes had two heats.

---Tuesday ---

First practice was staged on a drying track at Chidlow yesterday.  No timing or results are available as it was essentially free practice while qualifying and competition starts today.

The weather forecast is abysmal to say the least.  Perth is expecting it's roughest day of the year today with near gale force winds and heavy rain set to make qualifying a messy affair.

There are now 35 rider profiles on the site with plenty more to come.

45 images are now in the images section.
