This fourth and final race for the Aussie 125 riders was started immediately after completion of the third race. Galvin was the clear winner of that one from
Simmonds who adapted to the conditions well. O'Halloran was missing from the start of this race. Bryan Staring went grass-tracking at turn one and somehow managed to ride it out, his motocross experience coming to the fore there. He went all the way to the slip road, up hill and down dale, but managed somehow to remain upright. Out in front though it was Kelly, Galvin, Willy and Simmonds all fighting for the lead on the opening laps. Simmonds is quickly establishing himself as something of a rain master here today. He took a little while to find his footing in the earlier wet race but he got up to speed in the final laps. In this race he took the lead early though and with confidence but Galvin took the lead from him early on the third lap.Simmonds was not letting go of Galvin though but unfortunately he clipped the rear of Galvin's machine which brought Simmonds down. A bit of a blow after such a great ride today. This left Galvin to stamp his dominance out in front as Willy and Kelly fought over the remaining steps on the podium. But then both Willy and Kelly upped their pace and started to reel in Galvin, with two laps to go Willy had closed to within a couple of bike lengths of Galvin while Kelly was a little over a second further behind. But then Willy pushed a little too hard and went down leaving Galvin to a safe win over Kelly. Meanwhile Brad Hellyer, Cath Thompson and Alan Martisen battled over the final spot on the podium.
Final Points for the weekend.
