Peter Taplin and Mark Rowling got off the line but Scott Crombie left the line a little early.  Chris Wilkie was the early leader though from Taplin and Rowling.  Taplin perhaps was taking things a little tentatively at first as he highsided himself out of turn two early in the warm up session this morning.

Taplin took the lead at turn one as they started lap three but was shuffled back to third by Wilkie and Rowling at turn two. The next time around Taplin again took the lead in to turn one but this time he held off his pursuers in turn two to hang on to the lead and then used the rest of the lap to build a gap over Rowling and Wilkie.  Scott Crombie was running in fourth position but when the results are tallied he was hit with a 20 second penalty for jumping the start which shuffled him down the leader board a little further.
