A supermoto ride day will be held at the Cockburn Go-Kart circuit this Saturday, December 13.   700 tons of fine limestone has been brought in to the 1.07 kilometre tarmac track to add over 170 metres of dirt to make the track now 1.24 kilometres in length.  With 12 turns and lots of camber and elevation changes the circuit is one of the most exciting yet seen in Australia.

The dirt section includes two tabletop jumps and is situated in front of the main under cover spectator area which includes full canteen and bar facilities at reasonable prices.  The whole track can be seen from any point around the circuit making spectator viewing fantastic.

A lot of things have had to fall in to place in order to get the dirt section completed in time for this weekend's event.  A big thanks must go to the Tiger Kart Club, Cockburn City Council and the WA Conservation and Land Management planning division.  The circuit sits on an 'A' class CALM reserve so approval for such a venture was not guaranteed, but approvals were made rapidly to make it all possible.

Three semi-trailers worked from 6:30am to 4:30pm to bring the massive amount of limestone in to the circuit, while the Coastal Motocross Club helped out with the assistance of their bobcat with caretaker Laurie at the controls to help mould the track.  A 2.5 tonne ride-on vibrating roller has been hired for Friday to help compact the new surface prior to the action getting underway on Saturday.

The Supermoto machines will be once again joined by a fleet of XR70 machines along with some pocket-bike minimoto racers and Moriwaki machines.

Action gets underway from 1pm on Saturday.  The track is situated 15 minutes south of Fremantle in Gemma Road, Henderson.
