Troy Herfoss, aboard his Pacifico GP Husqvarna SMR 450 and 510 machines, showed the AMA SuperMoto field his capability at this weekends race with a two pole positions and second and third places in SuperMoto and Unlimited classes respectively.

From the start of the event, Herfoss was on the gas, netting second in the SuperMoto class qualifying session and getting him into the four-man SuperPole where each rider gets a flying lap to confirm his position on the front row of the grid. Troy's lap was indeed a flyer, his time was nearly a second faster than series leader and 2004 Champion Jeff Ward, giving him his first SuperPole of the season! Troy said; "The bike was working great, the Team has done a terrific job of getting it really fast. Everything came together well on the lap. Its real good to be on pole at last!"

Herfoss backed up his performance with another pole position in the SuperMoto Unlimited class.

In the first SuperMoto race Herfoss got off to a great start leading form the green light until lap twelve when past Supermoto world champion title contender Jurgen Kunzel moved up to challenge, getting past Troy as they got into lapping the field back markers. Unfortunately Herfoss was knocked down by one of them ending his chance of the win!

Though banged up, Herfoss got right back onto his SMR 510 for the unlimited race. He held the lead for six laps until past by Baffeleuf and a little later Micky Dymond. He settled for third, - a fine finish! Herfoss currently sits third in the Unlimited Championship, six points behind the leader.

Troy was considering sitting out the second SuperMoto main, so tired and bruised he felt, but come race time scant minutes after the Unlimited finish, he pulled on his reserves and lined up in front again. This time Jeff Ward took the lead with Troy in hot pursuit. Troy was able to mount a challenge for the lead but an off-track excursion later in the race dropped him from contention so he settled for second, a terrific performance. A weary Troy said; "Its tough competing in two classes. I really want to win in SuperMoto. Let's hope its next week (in Reno)!"
