Unedited race notes from our live reporting page - Start at the bottom and scroll up

  • 1632 - Brookesy takes the win but he had to fight for it, Waters takes second, Staring salvages third ahead of Seaton, Crowe while Fergusson fought back from that lap one disaster to take 6th place, Aitchison 7th and the fastest lap of the race with a 1m38.20
  • 1631 - Staring has a go at turn four but makes a mess of it, runs onto the grass and loses lots of time so now Brookes the clear leader from Waters, the Kawasaki man 7-tenths behind and not close enough to mount a challenge...
  • 1630 - Last lap board and Brookes has 2-tenths on Staring but the WA teenager closes up in the middle of turn one, right on his tail through Southern Loop...
  • 1629 - Brookes back in front, Staring and Waters close into turn four but Brookes gets good drive out, through the Hayshed they go and Brookes has pulled a bike length through here, down to MG they go, Staring right on his tail...
  • 1628 - Staring almost certain to get a satellite Honda ride next year for the Australian Supersport Championship and showing why he has earned that seat here today. Brookes back on his tail coming onto the straight, in his slipstream, the gap 5-hundredths of a second as they cross the line signalling two laps to run...
  • 1627 - Only 3 to go now and Staring leads Brookes through turn one, can Waters be a spoiler from behind, that's not out of the question.. Staring gaps Brookes a little on the run down to turn three...
  • 1627 - Less than half a second covers the leading trio now with them all having put in 1m38s. Staring back in front, 4 laps to run
  • 1626  - Staring alongside on the straight and sticks it up the inside of Brookes at turn one but Brookes holds the race line and Staring has to stand it up a tiny bit but lost no ground... Great battle unfolding here, I believe Staring is trying a rear Michelin for the first time here today
  • 1626 - Yes Waters is catching onto the back of them and it is shortly going to become a 3-way battle for the lead as this trio are more than 3 seconds ahead of fourth placed Chris Seaton
  • 1625 - Side by side onto the main straight and this time Brookes gets the advantage into turn one but will he be able to get away.... Or will Staring get him back....  Waters closing a little perhaps...
  • 1624 - Staring from Brookes, will Brookes get him this time on the straight... Has a look on the inside at MG but thinks better of it...
  • 1623 - Brookes gets better drive through turns 11 and 12 and pull alongside Staring but again the WA teenager holds him off through turn one, the pressure is on, Brookes all over Staring but yet to be able to make a move stick...
  • 1622 - Still Staring from Brookes and this pair starting to pull away a little from Waters and Seaton now. Next best is Stalder, Clarke, O'Halloran, Crowe
  • 1621 - Brookes and Staring side by side into turn one but Staring had the line and maintains the lead and keeps it through Southern Loop...
  • 1620 - Aitchison and Fergusson come together at turn four and run off slow time but both rejoin the circuit fine with no damage but lost a lot of places this has given Staring the benefit and the only rider right on his tail now is Josh Brookes while Josh Waters looks on not too much further behind
  • 1619 - Bryan Staring leads them through turn one on the first lap ahead of Mark Aitchison and Adam Fergusson
  • 1618 - Australian Supersports forming up on the grid now for their first race of the weekend
