Unedited race notes from our live reporting page

  • 1741 - The trio are virtually three wide near the Hayshed but all keep their cool, last lap this one so the run through 11 and 12 is going to decide it, Fergusson on it well and he has it, yes he gets it by 0.044 of a second from Giles with Brookes coming home a couple of feet behind. Dan Stauffer takes 4th, Charlton 5th, Johnson 6th, Henderson 7th, Geronomi 8th while Jamie Stauffer managed to salvage 9th after obviously having some sort of problem
  • 1740 - Brookes goes underneath Gilesy before they tip into 12 to take 2nd place but Gilesy gets him back down the chute, this trio has broken away from Dan Stauffer a little now.
  • 1739 - Gilesy takes the lead momentarily through 2 and 3 but Krusty gets the lead back at Honda Corner which is of course turn four at this sensational Phillip Island circuit
  • 1738 - Gilesy still in the lead but Brookesy has taken second place off Fergusson but then at MG it is Fergusson who sweeps around to take the lead and holds it all the way around 11 and 12 and on to the main straight, the leading four still nose to tail however and this game can still belong to any one of them
  • 1737 - We have lost Jamie Stauffer somewhere, not sure of the problem there but he has lost a lot of ground on the front running quartet of Giles, Fergusson, Brookes and Dan Stauffer.
  • 1736 - Fergusson under Dan Stauffer in the run down to MG and gets a great run around 11 and 12 to close right on Jamie's pipe and takes 2nd place from the Kawasaki man down the straight and the pair immediately close on to the rear tyre of Shawn Giles, Krusty gets the lead at Honda Corner, gee he is just sensational in to that corner
  • 1735 - Jamie Stauffer takes the lead in to turn one while Daniel Stauffer got away well in a big change of fortunes from the opening race but it is Shawn Giles who takes the lead in the run towards Honda Corner
  • 1734 - This second race is only five laps for the Superbikes and many riders have chosen to use their second new tyre in this second encounter with the weather predicted to be a bit cooler and possibly damp tomorrow
