19 year-old Rapid Bikes magazine supersport rider Jeremy Crowe scored top Honda privateer and top privateer Michelin rider in a field of five factory riders at round one of the Armaguard Australian Supersport Championships, held over the weekend of April 1 – 3 at the Phillip Island WSBK round.

Jeremy, from Condobolin in western NSW, was rewarded with $1000 from Honda and a free set of tyres from Michelin. Jeremy gave the established factory riders a run for their money on his 2005 Honda CBR600RR – proving his worth as a definite future factory rider.

After qualifying in sixth place, Jeremy went on to take seventh, 10th and sixth place finishes – setting a personal best lap time of 1:39.224 in race one despite being down on power after a rush to prepare his new machine.

“This is a great way to start the year,” said Crowe, “It was hard work as we haven’t had time to develop the bike to its full potential, so the results prove what a terrific bike the CBR600RR is straight out of the box.

“The Michelin tyres worked very well and the K-tech suspension was great. I’d like to thank my sponsors Monza Imports, Wayne Gardner Enterprises, Pro Mecha Suspension, Elf, Don Lark Motorcycles, Racers Edge, Mid State Spares, Allan Barber Signs, S&R Pro, Broadley’s Financial Services, Mark Brigden Spraypainting, ProdoCom and RK chains.”

Jeremy now heads to round two at Eastern Creek on May 1 with 40 points - sixth place in the 2005 championship.
