Final Qualifying with combined times / grid
- 1527 - Grid - Giles, J Stauffer, Johnson, Brookes, Fergusson, D
Stauffer, Bugden, Gobert, Holland, Charlton, Allerton, Rees,
Geronomi, Etheridge, Henderson, Maxwell, Coote, Adams, Stronach,
Turnbull, Naughton, Tuchyna, Schmidt, Smith, Roe, Millington, Ellis,
Alderson, Nanovich, McMenamin
- 1524 - Flag is out now, riders still on the circuit are on their
final flyer but it looks as though the top order is set, Giles on
pole, Jamie Stauffer 2nd, Shannon Johnson 3rd and Josh Brookes 4th
to make it a four brand front row. You can't ask for better than
that!
- to get a clear lap amongst the traffic. He has his helmet off
and has had enough for this session and it remains to be seen if
anyone can knock him off in the final couple of minutes
- 1519 - With only a few minutes remaining on combined time the
standings are currently; Giles, J Stauffer, Johnson, Brookes,
Fergusson D Stauffer, Gobert, Holland, Bugden
- 1518 - Gilesy cracks out a 55.354 to smash the pole record! Five
minutes left, can he go quicker, will we see our first ever 54?
- 1515 - Dan Stauffer making progress, down to 56.060 after what
was an extremely frustrating first qualifier early today where he
had numerous little problems with the bike in the session including
being sent out with no brakes at one stage! Great for the
nerves that one...
- 1514 - Jamie then backed that time with with a 55.778 to go
quicker again. Last year's pole time went to Adam Fergusson with a
55.644. Gilesy's in for rubber
- 1513 - Jamie Stauffer on top now with 10 minutes remaining,
55.796 the time, still just outside last year's qualifying time..
- 1512 - Fergusson down to 55.993 now and making forward progress
it seems. Anthony Gobert went out a couple of minutes ago and came
straight back in on the next lap for some adjustments which his
mechanics are doing now.
- 1508 - Gilesy has put his best lap of the day in just then with
a55.854 which is good enough to have him atop the timesheets on
combined time. Brookes also in the 55s this session
- 1502 - Johnson fastest thus far in this session but no real
serious times going down yet compared to this morning's 55 second
scorchers
- 1501 - Glenn Allerton just went straight on before the left
hander but kept it upright across the grass. The young Sydneysider
suffering terribly with a flu this weekend and struggling with
energy levels and concentration
- 1500 - Full results from Superstock
Race 1
- 1454 - Superbikes heading out of pitlane now for their final
qualifier
- 1453 - The damages bikes are still being removed from out of the
sandtrap and then the Superbike final qualifier will be underway
- 1444 - Over the hill for the final time and Bartlome still in
front and then the inevitable move at the final turn unfolded in
disaster as both riders went down tumbling into the dirt at the end
of that back straight. One of the bikes cartwheeled and will be
seriously damaged no doubt but hopefully the riders are okay as at
the end of the day that's all that matters. Neither rider wanted to
give in and it was a battle of who was bravest but in the end they
both ended up on their heads which allowed Daniel Figueiredo to take
the win from Shane Ingram and Anthony Quinn, Darren Edwards fourth,
Dean Bonthorne fifth, Chris Casella sixth, Drew Bennett seventh and
Clint Clarke eighth. Next up is Superbike final qualifying
- 1442 - Henry was in no hurry to get past however and watched
Bartlome from right behind on the penultimate lap and was tucked in
behind as they got the last lap board
- 1441 - Henry then put in a 60.7 to pull more time back on
Bartlome, that gap down to half a second with three laps to run. It
looks inevitable that Henry will catch and pass Bartlome now
- 1440 - Had put his head down and pulled out two 60.8 second laps
in succession to close the gap to Bartlome down to 1.2 seconds with
4 laps to run so it seems quite possible he is going to catch
Bartlome and challenge for the lead before too long
- 1439 - Full results from Pro Twins race 1
- 1438 - Bartlome got a flyer off the line in the first Superstock
encounter while newcomer Ben Henry failed to capitalise on his pole
position as Daniel Figueiredo also slotted past him from the second
row. Bartlome made great haste following that holeshot and set a
cracking pace around the back of the circuit to pull away and by the
end of the first lap he had pulled a full second over his pursuers
while Henry was commencing battle over second place with Bartlome.
Henry got that second spot under brakes at Novus Corner late on the
second lap but Bartlome had escaped to the tune of 1.7 seconds now
and with only six more laps Henry would really have to put his head
down in order to chase him down.
- 1430 - Pro Twins points now have McMartin leading the way with
89 points following his dominant performance at Eastern Creek early
this month with John Allen next best on 67 points
- 1427 - Full results from Supersport
Final Qualifying showing combined times / grid -
Full results from 125 Race 1
- 1426 - Archibald pulled away in the Pro Twins race after dipping
into the 57s and took the win by 3 seconds over his team-mate with
Craig McMartin taking the final step on the podium a further 7
seconds down
- 1421 - Pro Twins race one underway now with Archibald, McMartin
and Allen the leading protagonists
- 1415 - Brookes, Waters, Staring, Baird, Seaton, Aitchison,
Fergusson, Jones, O'Halloran, Clarke, Stalder, Crowe, Cote, Curran,
Davies, Fitzgerald, Cudlin, Campbell, Davies, Goldsmith is the order
on combined times and how the grid will be formed
- 1412 - Flag out now so they are on their final lap.
Brookesy didn't bother going out in this session as his time from
the earlier sessions has remained good enough for pole
- 1407 - Aitchison is finding time also, improving down to 58.023.
The Honda men and some of the quick runners from earlier today have
hardly turned a wheel in this session and there is only 4 minutes to
run
- 1402 - Clarke has found a lot of time to now get down to 58.7.
Jones going well on 58.442 for 6th in this session with 10 minutes
remaining
- 1358 - Seaton has found some more time to get down to 58.012
- 1356 - Bairdy also an improver, the Brisbane rider has found
half a second to drop his time to 58.030. 15 minutes remaining in
this session
- 1352 - Chris Seaton in his return from breaking his wrist went
really well this morning for fifth quickest with a 58.167 and he has
improved a little on that so far this session by dropping to a
58.154
- 1350 - 20 minutes left in this Supersport final qualifier and
Bryan Staring is leading the way with a 57.810. Brookes scored
provisional pole in the first session with a 57.784 ahead of Josh
Waters on 57.801 and Staring on 57.915 so Staring has improved his
time a little but that is still only good enough for third on
combined time.

Nakeds Race 1 - Supersport machines on track now starting their
final qualifying session
- 1338 -Hatton has the lead on combined time but he wants to win
on the track and he pulls a good move under brakes at Novus Corner
to steal the lead from Simmonds and ran across the line to take the
win which was met with a vocal cheer from the WA crowd.
- 1337 - Brett Simmonds then decided he wanted to lead and managed
to eclipse Hatton and Galvin to take his turn up the front and he
started to pull away from Hatton
- 1334 - Galvin got the best run off the line at the restart and
took that advantage all the way around lap one while Hatton was
shuffled back to fourth place at turn one but got back up to second
place at the final turn and set out after Galvin.
- 1330 - WA youngster Tom Hatton took the lead through the basin
on the opening lap of this first 125 encounter and was stalked down
the straight by Peter Galvin but Hatton retained the advantage
around turn one and then made a little ground through the esses and
the left hander before coming over the hill with a couple of bike
lengths over Galvin and over the back of the circuit Brett Simmonds
had clawed some ground on Galvin and was starting to challenge for
second place. The red flag was brought out with six laps to run
after a couple of riders went down and a machine was left on the
track making the track unsafe. The race was then restarted for the
final six laps with the results to be decided on the combined times
from both legs. Riders are on the grid now ready for the second part
of this race
- 1312 - Benn Archibald quickly sprinted away in the first
Nakedbike race as his team-mate John Allen suffered some problems as
did other top runner Simon Rattenbury. Archibald went on to win the
six lapper by more than six seconds over Jon Cartwright who had got
the better of Al Hoare for second place. Next up is the first 125
race

- 1255 - Sidecar final qualifying has been run with Abbott & Biggs
cruising around and not going too fast so as not to disqualify half
the field due to the percentage off pole rule. Abbott is the
2002 World Sidecar Champion and his machine is a weapon, he did an
easy 60 second lap for pole yesterday and will wait until the races
before showing what he can really do, expect 58s, perhaps even a 57

spot with a 56.267, flag is out now so they are on their final
flying lap
- 1216 - Giles improves his time again now down to 56.012 but

take sixth off Gobert
- 1209 - Tyre warmers coming off Allerton's Suzuki now, Gilesy
coming in
- 1208 - Jamie Stauffer the first man in the 55s today, the

qualifying record but well under the race lap record. Johnson up to
third quickest now with a 56.357
- 1206 - Gilesy third quickest now with a 56.367. Brookesy heading
out of pitlane. 10 minutes to run in this session. Fergusson coming
in, Glenn Allerton still in pitlane with his machine on tyre

Giles seventh and eighth, expect some progress from that pair very
shortly

made and looking at some data. Both Suzukis on track, Jamie Stauffer
still in the pits. Scott Charlton up to 4th with a 56.669
- 1155 - Giles heading out of pitlane. Shannon Johnson up to 3rd
quickest, 56.651, still Jamie Stauffer and Josh Brookes 1-2 on top

pits getting tyres. Anthony Gobert in to make some changes, as is
Brookes and Fergusson just coming into pitlane also, Jamie Stauffer
also coming in
- 1153 - Fergusson quickest now with 56.6, hold that, Brookesy now
quickest with 56.424 and Jamie Stauffer 2nd quickest with 56.439.

circuit thus sessions was red flagged until clear and reliable
communications could be reestablished. Pit lane open in 30 seconds
- 1013 - No word yet on what the reason was the red flag was but
