- 1543 - A minute to go and Krusty goes back on top with a 66.455
- 1542 - Gobert up to fifth in this session and currently sixth
overall on combined times
- 1540 - Jamie Stauffer on top now, 66.601, 3 minutes to run
- 1539 - There we go, Giles on top now with a 66.784
- 1537 - 7 minutes to run and Krusty is on top again in this one
with a 66.79 to go quicker than he recorded this morning. Gilesy put
in a string of low 67s before going back into the pits, I expect we
will see him out again shortly to have another crack
- 1530 - Superbikes back on track now
- 1525 - Medical staff clearing off the track now, session due to
be restarted shortly and the session will only run for 15 minutes
- 1520 - We believe Wayne Maxwell is the rider down and he is
still being attended to by medical personnel who are taking all
necessary precautions
- 1514 - The second Superbike session had been underway for around
10 minutes before a rider highsided himself between the northern
hairpin and the following left hander. Not a fast crash but he did
get spat quite high and came down hard which brought out the red
flag and medical personnel.
- 1459 -
Superstock race one results
- 1451 - Superstock underway again now and a fairly clean first
lap this time around and it is James Doddrell streaking away from
the field to the tune of 2.7 seconds after only a couple of laps
- 1449 -
Another gallery of Superbike images from this morning, Gallery E
- 1444 - Track has now been cleared and we should be back underway
shortly. We believe the rider down was a local and he has been
taken to the medical centre for treatment
- 1437 - Superstock men away now for their first encounter and a
rider came down at the first turn which immediately brought the red
flag out. Racesafe there almost instantly, under 20 seconds
for sure with car parked in front of fallen rider and ambulance on
the scene 60 seconds later. I must admit I would like to have these
guys around if I bit the tarmac and it is great that they are at all
rounds this year.
- 1433 - Archibald walked away with the win while a titanic battle
was waged in the final laps between John Allen and Michael Brenton
with plenty of pashing and shoving up the inside and outside going
and more than few times it looked as though it would end in tears
but they both made it home with Allen the one with his nose in front
to take second place. McMartin was a further five second down
on that pair and brought home fourth place well ahead of Stuart
Fripp
- 1425 - Pro Twins race underway again now, Archibald streaking
away from Brenton
- 1413 - The opening Pro Twins race was stopped not long after it
started due to a red flag incident and a rider down. Interruption to
proceedings while things are cleared before we have a restart

- 1403 -
Australian Supersport Final Qualifying / Combined Times / Grid
- 1400 - And he has done just that, Fergusson on top with a 68.55
- 1358 - Krusty just went out, obviously going to try and steal
his pole position back from his teammate
- 1356 - Five minutes to run now and Fergusson has still not gone
out in this session I believe, he also only put in four laps this
morning to earn his provisional pole which Brookesy has now knocked
him off of, the #1 plate holder obviously thinking tyre life may be
crucial come race day and as the Supersport boys have to qualify on
the same tyres that are going to race on the less wear on them the
better. Big improvers in this session have been Josh Waters
and Brendan Clarke with both riders picking up a lot of time this
afternoon, Waters down to 69.0 and Clarke down to 69.2
- 1350 - Sorry about the delay people with this latest update but
we were trying to upload some images for you and doing all this and
updating the site on a dial up connection is painful to say the
least, but we battle on... Josh Brookes went half a second under the
lap record a few minutes ago after cracking out a 68.69 second
scorcher. 12 minutes left in this session now
- 1340 - In to the final Supersport qualifier now but nobody going
quick in this session just yet
- 1327 - Simmonds takes the win by nearly 13 seconds while Galvin
just manages to hold out Brent Rigoli to take second place. Fourth
Andrew Willy who got the better of Rudi Muller in the closing stages
of the race then a couple of second further back was Tim Inkster.
Tom Hatton 7th followed by Thompson, Moller, Panayi, Cutting, Scott,
Coleman, Bell, Khalek
- 1323 - Simmonds down into the 72 second bracket not too far off
Josh Brookes' 125 lap record around here and he is blitzing the
field in this encounter, with three laps to run Simmonds leads by
nearly ten seconds! Galvin is coming under intense pressure
from Brent Rigoli and Rudi Muller while Andrew Willy looks on a
couple of bike lengths further behind in fifth
- 1317 - 125 GP machines away now for their opening race and it is
Simmonds and Galvin the leading protagonists early on but Simmonds
pulled out good ground around the back sections of the circuit to
leave Galvin in his wake and had stretched his lead out to an
incredible 1.7 seconds by the end of lap one.
- 1310 - Archibald did manage to get away and went on to take the
win by four seconds over Michael Brenton, Jon Cartwright and then a
long gap back to a fourth placed Rattenbury, Allen, Hoare, Van
Rooyen, Whyment, Smith, Marukic, Olm, Mills
- 1306 - Nakedbike race one is underway with a mistake at turn one
costing John Allen dearly as he ran on and had to go up pitlane
before rejoining at the back of the field. Benn Archibald the early
leader from Jon Cartwright and Michael Brenton but not escaping just
yet
- 1234 - Sidecar final qualifying wrapping up shortly with of
course the Abbott/Briggs outfit leading the way with a 73.5 from
Treasure (75.4) and Hutchinson (75.6)
- 1213 -
Superbike First Qualifying
- 1211 - Brookes now third quickest, 67.28 - Only a single minute
remaining before the flag comes out ending the session
- 1207 - Sorry about that delay their people was just doing an
interview with a radio show by phone concerning recent motorcycle
racing news but back in your service here now and it is Jamie
Stauffer the new pace setter with a 66.87 just eclipsing the 66.96
of Adam Fergusson. Shawn Giles third (67.482) Shannon Johnson is up
to 4th (67.483) and Anthony Gobert looking ever so smooth with a
67.57 to be fifth quickest. Only a few minutes remaining in this
session
- 1152 - 20 minutes to go in this session and there are five men
in the 67s now; Fergusson (67.45), Brookes (67.68), J Stauffer
(67.72), Giles (67.95), Bugden (67.96)
- 1150 - I just got to thinking about how things are at the
racetracks for us media types and I was perhaps remiss in not
mentioning Winton and Wanneroo when earlier singing the praises of
Mallala. Mallala certainly has the best food and the Phoenix
guys make sure we get looked after but Winton also deserves a
special mention with Maggie always going the extra mile for us,
while of course the MCRC ladies at Wanneroo are also very helpful.
- 1147 -
Superstock
Final Qualifying / Grid
- 1146 - Superbikes on track now for their first qualifying
session. Krusty straight down to the 67s bracket with a 67.4
- 1138 - C&D grid will be as follows; Partoosh, R Liminton, Van
Rooyen, Hall, Moore, N Liminton, Manning, Bennett, Whyment,
Middleton, Tuchyna
- 1123 - C&D graders on track now in their final qualifier.
Just a short note also recommending Shirley's steak sandwiches in
the pit canteen here at Mallala, here we always get the best
racetrack food around from the girls in the canteen. In the
media centre the Phoenix Club also make sure we get looked after
thus is certainly one of the rounds I look forward to more than
others.
- 1116 - Superstock session just finished and on combined time the
grid will resemble the following; Edwards, Doddrell, Bennett,
Andrews, Higgins, Christie, Bonthorne, Quinn, Leisavnieks,
Figueiredo, Ingram, Casella, Liddicoat, Radford, Hay, Bartlome,
Vikuckis, Phillips, Clarke, Riddle
- 1112 - Only time for a couple more laps in this final Superstock
qualifying session and it is Edwards currently on top from Andrews,
Doddrell and Leisavnieks
- 1109 - Full results from all sessions thus far this morning
-
Nakedbike Q2 -
125 Q2 -
Supersport Q1 -
Twins Q2 -
- 1100 - Superstock session was started some time ago but a short
time into the session a rider came down hard which sent the red flag
out while the carnage was cleared. Session has been restarted
now.
- 1044 - Pro Twins Grid decided and the order is; Archibald,
Allen, Brenton, McMartin, Fripp, R Liminton, Johnston, Lyons,
Martinello, Van Rooyen, Johnston, N Liminton, Clark, Whyment, Ellul
- 1039 - Pro Twins final qualifying well underway now and Benn
Archibald looks to be the man with a great 69.62
- 1029 -
Supersport
First Qualifying session results
- 1017 - That first qualifying session is done and dusted - A few
timing issues with the displays at current but I believe the order
posted at 1013 is the final ranking for that session, stand by for
full results
- 1013 - The status quo remains with Fergusson leading from
Aitchison, Brookes, Staring, Baird, Waters (that top six all under
70s), Coote, Seaton, O'Halloran, Jones, Clarke, Stalder, Davies,
Quinn, Crowe, Campbell
- 1007 - Fergusson has gone to the top now with a 68.94 while
Aitchison is second (69.44), Brookes third (69.64), Staring fourth
(69.79)
- 1000 - Back up and running here at Mallala on another fine and
fairly clear morning. A fair bit more wind around this morning
though which combined with the very dry and dusty surrounding farms
could cause the riders a few problems and put dust on the circuit
thus we might not see the riders pick up as much time from yesterday
as we would have if conditions were calm. So far this morning
there has been
Nakedbike Final Qualifying, 125 GP Final Qualifying the results
from which will be posted shortly and on now we have the first
Supersport qualifier and thus far it is Brookes, Staring, Aitchison
the leading trio and the only men in the 69s.
