--  Unedited notes from our live text updates which ran live from the circuit

  • 1337 - Galvin now leads the series on 233 points while Rigoli takes no points from this round to remain in second place on the points table with a tally of 169 and Brett Simmonds retains third place in the standings despite not starting here this weekend after sustaining a recent injury while practicing
  • 1336 - Galvin held the lead over the final lap despite Smith's best efforts and the veteran multiple time Australian Champion gets the better of the youngster this time around to take the win by 2-tenths of a second. Galvin the fastest lap with a 1m30.43 to Smith's 1m30.68 but both riders more than two seconds outside of Bryan Staring's 125 GP lap record. Campbell takes the final step on the podium some 8 seconds behind the leader, Thompson 4th, Bell 5th, Willy 6th, Muller 7th, Scott 8th, Inkster 9th, Moller 10th.
  • 1334 - Galvin has the lead as they start the last lap but the pair still together...
  • 1332 - Galvin and Smith again neck and neck as they start the penultimate lap and putting down flat 1m31s with the occasional 1m30 thrown in for good measure
  • 1331 - As they came across the line with 3 laps to run Smith and Galvin were side by side but it was the veteran that edged in front as they entered turn one. Campbell now 6 seconds down in 3rd place with a 1 second buffer over Cath Thompson
  • 1330 - 125 Race 1 - Tom Hatton got a great run off the line to take the lead heading into the esses for the first time at Winton but Peter Galvin soon scythed his way through the field to take the lead before they have completed half a lap and was followed by Brent Rigoli and Blake Leigh-Smith as they started lap two while Hatton had been pushed back to fourth over the duration of that first lap which coincidentally is the first fully dry lap the 125 riders have ridden thus far this weekend. Brent Rigoli's progress forward was not all kosher however as he scored a ten second penalty to be added to his race time for jumping the start. As they commeneced lap thee it was young Blake Leigh-Smith closing in on race leader Galvin while Brent Rigoli had slipped to third place on the track. Paul Campbell had pushed his way up to 4th place, Cath Thompson 5th, Vincent Bell 6th, Peter Scott 7th and Andrew Willy 8th while Tom Hatton had stopped somewhere on the circuit. With five laps to run it was Blake Leigh-Smith leading from Peter Galvin and it looked as though it would be this pair, the tiny youngster and tiny veteran that would be the protagonists for the win as Paul Campbell in third place was nearly 5 seconds down on the leading duo.
