A terrible night storm with a very strong wind and heavy shower slowed the temperature down for the second qualifying session in Sachsenring. These better conditions gave the chance to the 250 riders for improving their lap time compared with yesterday torrid first session. Casey Stoner will start from the second row with the 7th fastest lap time although a small slipping in the last part of the session whilst Locatelli will start from the third row with the 11th lap time.

Casey Stoner seventh 1’25”470
“I am a bit disappointed with the way this session went. We definitely have made a good setting for the race tomorrow but the only problem was when I tried to make a qualifying time to put me on the front row we had a problem with the rear tyre that we fitted. This problem gave me the wrong feeling and I was not comfortable pushing the front end. In the last corner of the last lap I crashed due to this problem and I was very disappointed in this. Anyway I am looking forward to the race tomorrow…”.

Roberto Locatelli 11° 1’26”139
“I am very happy. When everybody lapped with the race set up I was 7th fastest so I feel confident for the race tomorrow. I lost some positions on qualifying tyres because I did not lap in the proper way but the most important thing is that I found more feeling with the bike and the set up we had these two days make me very satisfied. Definitely I am more optimist than the past”.
