Amongst hundreds of two wheels fans came here for the Italian GP, Casey Stoner got a positive fourth place which allows him to hold the third position in the 250 provisional world standing with 76 points (22 less than the leader Pedrosa). The Australian rider nr. 27 made a very good start from the front row leading the race for 14 laps. Then he slowed his pace down fighting with the first group composed by Pedrosa, Lorenzo and De Angelis. Casey did the best till the last corner loosing the final rush for a couple of tenths. Unlucky race for Roberto Locatelli who crashed in the second lap while he was 19th. Anyway Roberto finished his Italian week end unhurt. Casey Stoner - Fourth - “Honestly I was expecting something more from this race considering also the good job we made during the practices. Today the bike was not at 100% and from the half of the race I started to suffer some problems in the corners cause my Aprilia tented to bring me out of the trajectory. The bike moved to much and to avoid the other riders attack I should have taken to many risks. For a long part of the race I was first and thought to get the podium but I finished in fourth position… well it’s good anyway for the world standing”. Roberto Locatelli - Crashed - “The warm up session gave more confidence and thought to get a better a good result today. Unfortunately my race finished after two laps. It’s a very difficult moment for me and hope to get a solution very soon together with my team”.
