After the stifling hot of last two days the Dutch GP took place in different weather conditions with a lower temperature and cloudy sky. Anyway the track surface was completely dry but the change of the temperature gave some problems to Casey’s bike who finished in 6th position today. The Australian rider is still second in the provisional world standing behind Pedrosa. Roberto Locatelli got the 11th position and he is now 14th with 20 points. Casey Stoner SIXTH - “I am very disappointed about today because I thought we could make a much better result. All the week end we have been quite consistently fast and at least I thought we could stay with the front group and make a good race. Unfortunately in the beginning of the race my bike was not perfect and it was difficult to stay with the front riders so I did not try to push to much because I had a couple of front loss and some slide in the rear. So I just do the pace which I was comfortable with. At ten laps to go I found a good feeling with the bike again when the fuel had gone down and began to make some better lap time to come back through some of the riders and to try to reach the front. But by then it was impossible because they were to far ant to fast. So I just tried to set a good lap time every lap but unfortunately in the last lap I did not realize that it was the last lap: I thought there were still two laps to go and made a mistake and did not brake late enough to pass Aoyama and De Angelis. I think the fourth position would have been possible for sure if I was not wrong in the last lap”. Roberto Locatelli 11th - “I feel quite satisfied because the last two days were very difficult for me. I started from the 5th row but I was able to get the 11th position overtaking many riders and without any crash in front of me. It’s a real earned result! In the beginning I suffered a bit for the fracture of the rib but when the analgesic started to function I got more feeling with the bike and I started to push harder. Thanks to my team for their good job and their support”. |
