Unedited notes from our live reporting - Start from the bottom and read up

  • 1238 - Corser takes the win by 8.2 seconds over his team mate while Vermeulen just managed to hold out Neukirchner to take 3rd - Suzuki 1-2 again and at this early stage of the machine's development that is quite an achievement... Especially when they are the only two Suzuki's in the field...
  • 1237 - Vermeulen left the door open into Siberia and Neukirchner went for it and the two banged elbows but remained upright, side by side at turn 11 but Vermeulen holds the line
  • 1236 - Neukirchner all over Vermeulen everywhere but can't quite squeeze past, but it only seems a matter of when rather than if.
  • 1235 - Pitt has got back up to 5th place after passing Abe
  • 1234 - Vermeulen struggling to hold off Neukirchner who is almost certain to try and make a move sometime before this race is complete
  • 1231 - 314kph down the chute for Corser that time around. Laconi also records 314kph and Toseland 3rd quickest down the chute wit 311kph but the factory Ducati pair are only running 7th and 15th respectively.  Kagayama pulls another couple of tenths on Vermeulen so the Suzuki 1-2 looks very safe at this point.  Neukirchner has passed Abe and closed right on to the tail of Vermeulen and will soon be challenging for that 3rd position, the young German impressing everyone here this weekend
  • 1229 - 5 laps to run and Corser has 7 seconds over his team mate Kagayama.  Vermeulen still running 3rd but the gap to Kagayama now down to 4.3 seconds
  • 1228 - Vermeulen looks to have finally shaken Abe off his tail pipe and the Australian now has an advantage of 7-tenths. Neukirchner has pushed Pitt down to 6th
  • 1226 - Borciani out so now only 18 riders still circulating as the attrition rate depletes the field
  • 1225 - Vermeulen can't shake Abe off his tail and the pair are not closing on Kagayama who still retains a 5 seconds advantage in 2nd place.  Steve Martin out of the race
  • 1223 - Corser out to 1m36.1 now while Kagayama ran a 1m36.2 that time around and has 5 seconds on 3rd placed Vermeulen who put in a 1m36.1 on that lap but Abe still on his tail. Pitt dropping off the back of that pair now and about to be challenged by Neukirchner and then possibly by Laconi
  • 1221 - Corser still in the 1m35s now as the tyres continue to wear but he is the only man running that sort of pace and his lead over Kagayama is now out to 5 seconds.  Vermeulen and Abe are past Pitt now.  Haga in the pits with a broken Yamaha
  • 1220 - Andrew Pitt trying to stay ahead of that pack fighting over 4th but looks to really be struggling with rear grip, which of course everyone is but Pitt's rear certainly looks a bit more wild than the others and he is smoking the rear through turns 11 and 12
  • 1219 - Corradi out of the race
  • 1218 - If Pitt is not careful he is going to be pulled into the clutches of that marauding pack behind him as the gap between Pitt and pack leader Vermeulen down to only 1.5 seconds
  • 1217 - James Toseland down in a disappointing 16th position
  • 1215 - Corser punishing the rear tyre of his Suzuki more than we are accustomed to seeing him do but it's working for him as he is still by far the fastest man on the track with another 1m35.5 this time while his team mate Kagayama is out to a 1m36.7 and now nearly 3 seconds adrift of Corser.  A similar gap exists between Kagayama and 3rd placed Andrew Pitt while Vermeulen is still leading that battle for 4th but struggling to do it as the tail end of his Honda wags viciously at times
  • 1213 - Vermeulen leading that battle for 4th now and Abe 5th while Laconi couldn't break away and has been shuffled back to 6th but they are still together in that hectic battle which also includes Neukirchner, Muggeridge, Haga and Martin
  • 1212 - Corser 1m35.5 but still pulling a little ground on Kagayama, the gap now 1.6 seconds. Vizziello out of the race , Pedercini also possibly out
  • 1211 - A flat 1m35 for Corser that time and he now has 1.3 seconds over his team mate, the gap back to Pitt still around 2 seconds and he has nearly 4 seconds over 4th placed Laconi
  • 1210 - Laconi leading that battle for 4th place now and he might have the pace to pull away from them... Garry McCoy has retired from the race, Cardoso in the pits and Nieto also out of the race
  • 1209 - Corser a 1m35.244 that time around to pull another 3-tenths out of Kagayama, Pitt still a relatively lonely 3rd place while Muggeridge has moved up to lead the hectic battle for 4th place, they are just all over each other in that pack
  • 1207 - Corser getting down in the 1m34s now, a 1m34.917 on that last lap but Kagayama still only half a second behind.  This pair pulling away from Pitt while a huge gaggle of riders fight over 4th place a further 2.7 seconds behind Pitt.  Abe, Haga, McCoy, Muggeridge, Laconi, Vermeulen, Neukirchner all running together in that battle for 4th
  • 1205 - Corser is testing the limits of adhesion with the rear wagging across Lukey Heights and the gap to Kagayama is being maintained at around half a second, Pitt a further 8-tenths back and Haga a further 1.5 seconds down in 4th
  • 1204 - Corser the leader at the end of lap 1 from Kagayama as the Suzuki pair start to pull away a little from 3rd placed Pitt who in turn has good ground on 4th placed Haga who is followed by Abe, McCoy, Neukirchner, Laconi, Muggeridge and Vermeulen
  • 1202 - The World Superbike race is underway and it is Suzuki, Yamaha, Suzuki in to the first turn. Kagayama was the 3rd placed rider but he slipped up to 2nd at Honda Corner by passing Andrew Pitt while Troy Corser led the way out in front
  • 1141 - World Superbike Race 1 up next on what is a nearly completely dry track. The riders still won't quite be able to commit a full 100% through some of the corners but they won't be too far off it
