Haga again gets the holeshot and this time Kagayama also gets away well but Corser slots through on him for second place, Laconi fourth.

Then on the second lap Laconi went down, Cardoso also down with him along with Abe.

Up front it was Haga, Corser, Kagayama leading the way with Toseland running fourth and very much in the hunt.

Corser takes the lead on lap three as that pair break away a little from Kagayama who was really starting to come under attack from Toseland. Vermeulen a few bike lengths further behind in fifth.

Toseland got the better of Kagayama for third and a couple of laps later Haga put a move on Corser but he only stayed there momentarily before Corser slotted straight back through.   Vermeulen starting to attack Kagayama for that fourth place.

Lap eight saw Vermeulen take that fourth spot off Kagayama.

Toseland was on a charge and closing up on the leaders as the race approached half race distance.  Vermeulen also getting a little close to that front pack.

Toseland took Haga's second place off him on lap 16 and then the next time around took the race lead off Troy Corser and looked to have the speed to possibly make a break.  The British crowd loving every minute of it.

Lap after lap it continued with Toseland leading the way from Corser and Haga trying hard to keep in touch and getting close to Corser at times before an error would cost him his chance.

Last lap and Toseland looks to have the edge to carry it all the way to the line and the British crowd going mental at the prospect of their young World Champion returning to form in front of them this weekend at this dinky version of the Silverstone layout, and he does it, Toseland takes the win, Corser second, Haga third, Vermeulen fourth while Chili got Walker for fifth.

Corser still extends his championship lead with that second place now stretching his points lead out to 78 points while Vermeulen's consistency is paying off as he is now only three points adrift of Kagayama's second place overall.  Laconi fourth on 112 points despite taking no points in that race with race winner James Toseland in fifth place on 98 points.
