This weekend saw the 2006 season opener of the Premiere Superbike Class at Eastern Creek in NSW. The battle between the factory teams was fierce with all 4 manufacturers qualifying in the top five positions and battling it out for the win.

Scott travelled to Eastern Creek for the first weekend of racing without having any testing and in fact without even haven ridden the Yamaha at the track. Unfortunately, due to some slight delays with the Race preparation Scott also found himself without a race bike and was set to compete the first round on board a 2006 stock standard Yamaha R1 Street bike, with Race fairings and an exhaust system.

An exceptional effort by Scott for taking a street bike to the track and competing against a field of fully worked Superbikes.

Although, Scott was not as competitive as he would like to have been, he still managed a fine effort, qualifying in 11th position and starting from the third row of the grid. Scott placed 8th overall, 3rd Privateer in Race 1 and In Race 2 Scott finished 10th overall and 4th Privateer.

At the conclusion of Round 1, Scott is placed 7th in the Australian Superbike Championship and 3rd in the Superbike Privateer Cup. Scott is looking forward to having some test time and travelling to Wanneroo, Western Australia with a race prepared machine for Round 2 on May 26-28 2006, where he hopes to improve on his results.
