Well the first round of the Australian Superbike Championship at Eastern Creek is now over and the Robern Racing Honda team is sitting in 2nd place in the series just 11 points off 1st placed Jamie Stauffer.

The weekend went smoothly from start to finish as Russell qualified on the front row in 4th position with a 1min 32. 1 sec laptime that was 0.8 seconds off pole. For race one the Pirelli shod Honda got a great start into 2nd place and then haunted Jamie Stauffer in first place for the entire 13 laps to finish second.

In the 2nd race it wasn’t so easy as Russell was stuck in 4th at the start and had to bide his time. Running the second fastest time on lap 5 (1min 31.8) Russell began his push forward and with 3 laps to go moved into 2nd position. He set about pulling a gap and had 2.4 seconds over third at the chequered flag.

So two 2nd places was icing on the cake for the team and sponsors as they had their debut in the Australian Superbike Championship.
