Australian Superbike Race 2

  • 1621 - Superbike Race 2 Provisional Results - We believe Russell Holland is the round winner

1 Jamie STAUFFER Yamaha R1 19
2 Russell HOLLAND Honda CBR RR 19 1.931
3 Adam FERGUSSON Honda CBR RR 19 8.746
4 Daniel STAUFFER Yamaha R1 19 19.762
5 Andrew STROUD Suzuki GSXR 19 21.930
6 Wayne MAXWELL Kawasaki ZX10R 19 22.076
7 Robert BUGDEN Suzuki GSXR 19 22.930
8 Joshua WATERS Kawasaki ZX10R 19 23.100
9 Scott CHARLTON Yamaha R1 19 33.726
10 Shannon ETHERIDGE Suzuki GSXR 19 1:18.062
11 Ashley ROE Honda CBR RR 18 1 Lap
12 Trent GIBSON Suzuki GSXR 18 1 Lap
13 Cole ODENDAAL Suzuki GSXR 18 1 Lap
14 Stephen TOZER Honda CBR RR 18 1 Lap
15 Paul RADFORD Suzuki GSXR 18 1 Lap

  • 1616 - Jamie Stauffer takes the win ahead of Holland, Fergusson third, Dan Stauffer fourth, Andrew Stroud won that battle for fifth then it was Maxwell, Bugden, Waters and Scott Charlton came home well down on them in 9th place. I can only presume he made some sort of mistake on the final lap.  Etheridge remounted his machine to salvage 10th place ahead of Roe, Gibson, Odendall, Tozer and Radford
  • 1615 - Charlton ahead of Maxwell now for sixth place. Maybe Scotty should ride with a standard engine more often.... He blew his race engine last week and is using a stock engine this weekend
  • 1613 - Scott Charlton just got the better of Robbie Bugden to move up to 7th place behind Wayne Maxwell and Andrew Stroud who were having their own battle over 5th place. Etheridge just crashed out of 10th place but was quickly up and seemingly unhurt
  • 1610 - Johnson's Kawasaki just died and he rolled to a stop on the grass which takes the pressure of Fergusson.  Holland still second to Jamie, 2.7 seconds behind the Yamaha man but 3 seconds ahead of Fergusson now.  If Holland brings home second place I believe he will be the overall round winner...
  • 1608 - Just when Fergusson had got close enough to be able to challenge Holland he made a mistake and ran a little wide which cost him all that hard work and lost him 1.5 seconds to Holland.  Johnson just over a second further behind Fergusson. Dan Stauffer still leading the heady battle for fifth from Stroud but they are 9 seconds behind Johnson with six laps to run
  • 1607 - Fergusson closing back on Holland
  • 1605 - Holland has not been able to close any more ground on Jamie Stauffer though, the Yamaha man responding to the challenge to manage the gap at around 2 seconds.  Fergusson still third with a few bike lengths on Johnson. This quartet though the class acts of the day as the battle over fifth was 8 seconds down on that leading pack of four
  • 1603 - The battle over fifth place is currently led by Dan Stauffer but you could throw a blanket over him and include Stroud, Bugden and Maxwell in the warmth
  • 1601 - Holland getting away from Fergusson a little now, not much, but enough for the Joe Rocket Honda man not to be showing him a wheel at every turn. Holland also pulled a couple of tenths back on Jamie that time around.
  • 1600 - Kiwi Andrew Stroud doing well in this one, the Suzuki man running fifth ahead of Bugden, Dan Stauffer, Wayne Maxwell, Shannon Etheridge and Scott Charlton rounds out the top ten with 14 to run
  • 1558 - No wonder Jamie is pulling away, he just set a new lap record, 66.8. With 15 laps to run he already has a 2 second buffer over that battle for second place being waged by Holland, Fergusson and Johnson
  • 1556 - Krusty was all over Holland but couldn't make a pass stick, Johnson closing on that pair too but Jamie streaking away in this one
  • 1554 - Superbikes away again and this time the start is fairly equal with the whole front row four-wide towards turn 1 but it was Jamie who led them through the turn with Holland in behind, Krusty did his best to get Holland under brakes at the Southern Hairpin and it nearly got ugly but they all remained upright. Shannon Johnson in fourth, Jamie starting to pull away already...
  • 1545 - I don't think we are too far away from a re-start, one of the riders down was Steve Manning and the other rider down Brenden Gurowski.  The race will be a full re-start for the whole 19 laps and riders are readying themselves now on the grid for their warm up laps
  • 1538 - Jamie Stauffer got the best run off the line to capitalise on his pole position with Adam Fergusson in right behind. This pair immediately started to pull away. A little further back Stroud and Maxwell were rubbing plastics. But the riders did not even get to complete the opening lap before the red flag came out as two riders had gone down at the Southern Hairpin.
  • 1532 - Unfortunately Glenn Allerton will be a non starter in this race as he banged his head around a little again in that Supersport crash earlier this afternoon.
  • 1528 - Superbikes up next!
