2006 Australian Superbike
Championship (YMF Loan) - Round Four - Queensland Raceway July 7th,
2006 - By, Trevor Hedge
Unedited notes
from live text update page on Friday
1706 - That's it for the
day, Nakedbike first qualifying provisional
results - The V8 Supercar versus Superbike challenge
scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled due to problems with
TEGA
1615 - Bugden improving,
now fourth quickest with a 70.93
1612 - Russell Holland to
the top of the charts! 70.08 to the Pirelli shod
Fireblade.
1607 - Adam Fergusson the
first of the fast boys to improve, down to 70.88 from this
mornings 71.04. Still more than half a second away though
from Jamie's 70.24 this morning
1603 - Superbikes on track
now, track temperature around 31-32c, a reasonable breeze
but nothing that will pose them too many problems. As ever,
it is the bumps here that really affect the riders, one of
the fast boys describing the braking bumps at turn three
like a rhythm section at a supercross track!
1533 - The FX Cup session
has been red flagged due to a faller at turn three, session
will be restarted with 21 minutes remaining
1517 - O'Halloran quicker
again, 72.26, no other real movement by the fast boys and
the flag is about to come out to end the session
1515 - Okay now we have
some movement at the top, O'Halloran was quickest this
morning and he just lowered his mark a little further with a
72.42, just marginally quicker than this morning
1511 - Aitchison the only
improver out of the front runners thus far, 6 minutes
remaining, Aitchison just moved up to third quickest with a
72.84
1507 - Still no real
forward progress for the front runners, 10 minutes remaining
in this session
1500 - Nobody getting too
excited in this Supersport session as yet, none of the front
runners have improved their times from this
morning as yet
1450 - 600 Supersports
heading out now for their final practice session for the day
1445 - Craig McMartin
unchallenged on provisional pole in the Pro Twins. Mick
Kelly is not aboard the Ducati 749R this weekend so it
appears McMartin is set to walk away with the races here
this weekend. He just put down a 74.05 in the first
qualifier, 1.1 seconds quicker than second placed Paul Roe.
And with only nine machines turning a wheel in anger here
today the Pro Twins bouts look set to be a yawnfest
1428 - Pro Twins First
Qualifier on now and again it is McMartin way ahead of Roe,
Johnston and Van Rooyen
1420 - 125 First
Qualifying has wrapped up and it is Moller on provisional
pole ahead of Esler, Galvin, Hatton, Rigoli and Thompson.
Full results shortly
1409 - Only a few minutes
remaining in this 125 GP first qualifying session and at the
moment Rhys Moller is the man to bear on on 78.8 ahead of
Malcolm Esler (79.1), Peter Galvin (79.4) and Tom Hatton
(79.5)
1405 - And while we are
plugging away, remember to click the banner above for your
chance of winning a new Suzuki and a swag of gear from Mat
Mladin Imports
1403 - Also a reminder for
WA residents that HRCA will be hosting a track day at the
challenging Wanneroo Raceway later this month,

1400 - Suzuki today
released the details on their corporate package for the
Australian MotoGP. Only 150 Suzuki owners and their guests
will be catered for. Worth over $740 and including a Suzuki
merchandise pack valued at $170 along with all food and soft
drink and the chance to meet the Suzuki MotoGP stars and
Australian Superbike pilots with a walk down MotoGP pit-lane
also included in the package. Suzuki also today
released details on the new 2007 RM-Z450,
check out their new website for all the details on the
GP package and the new models
1347 - Okay this time the
Superstock first qualifier has finished and it is Quinn on
provisional pole ahead of Kokshoorn then it is Houwen,
Sciberras, Yates, Andrews, Trounson, Bloomfield, Higgins and
Broadfoot. 125 first qualifying up next
1332 - It seems I was a
little quick on the draw with the Superstock results from
that qualifier, the sessions stopped with over 10 minutes
remaining due to a red flag with a bike down at turn four.
The sessions is up and running again now so that order I
gave you before was really more of a mid session update
1325 - Sorry about the
break in transmission guys, we are having some 'technical'
issues as you may have worked out. We have managed to get
some more results up for you all however - Twins P1 -
Superbike P1 - Superstock first
qualifying just wrapped up with Kokshoorn on provisional
pole ahead of Houwen, Quinn, Andrews, Sciberras, Yates,
Trounson and Higgins
1221 - Jamie Stauffer
straight down to business with a 71.05, the only man thus
far in the 71s.....
1218 - Superbikes on track
now, the breeze has got up a fair bit but nothing that
should cause them too many problems. Track temp will be
rising and will be very warm later this afternoon it seems
1204 - Sorry about the
break there readers, just had to nip down to the pits and
have a word with a few of the boys and get some footage for
some upcoming Podcasts. 125 GP First
Practice Results are up and with five minutes remaining
in the Pro Twins session it is Craig McMartin a mile ahead
of Paul Roe and Mick Johnston
1105 - Conditions about
perfect here today, probably somewhere around 20c with very
little breeze
1101 - FX Cup on track
now, this is a class for mixed capacity machines ridden by
C&D graded riders. So far in their first practice session
Barnes is leading the way with a 75.2 which is a none too
shabby time. Domaschenz, Keene, Turner and Fraser also in
the 75s
1059 - Supersport First Practice Results - Things are a little
slow for us here today, we are working off a wireless
connection with an intermittent one bar of CDMA coverage
1030 - Welcome to our text
