Unedited notes from live text update page on Sunday

  • 1726 - The full results and points from all classes are now up in the home page of this portal.
  • 1722 - Andrews leads the series by 55 points over Trounson who in turn has 40 points on Quinn... That is us done for today as we have a two hour drive to the airport before a four flight home to look forward to.  See you in four weeks live from the finale at Eastern Creek!
  • 1717 - Andrews tries up the inside of Trounson into turn one but they touch and both go across the grass but regain the track and it is Trounson that gets back onto the tarmac quickest to have the race lead... Andrews quickly right behind him again though... Down to the final turns and Andrews up the inside.... Trounson inside for a look but Andrews gets the line... and he takes the win, Andrews wins... Trounson second place and Houwen home in third place four seconds down then it was McConnell, Higgins, Bonthorne, Quinn, Reid
  • 1716 - Houwen lost some ground on Trounson and Andrews on the following lap and looks to be out of the game for the win... He has six seconds over fourth placed McConnell though so third place should be safe...
  • 1714 - The leading trio nose to tail now,  Trounson got his nose in front but Houwen took the lead right back,  three laps to run and the race is suddenly wide open with the leading trio running nose to tail and challenging each other at various points of the 3 kilometre circuit.... Trounson to the lead now, Andrews up to second so Houwen shuffled back to third late on lap five...
  • 1713 - Andrews puts in a new fastest lap of the race on lap four with a 29.0 but still in third place behind Trounson... Houwen leads by a second...
  • 1711 - Houwen leads by 1.4 seconds now, McConnell now a strong fourth place after escaping from Quinn and Higgins..
  • 1710 - Houwen extends his lead to 1.2 seconds at the end of lap two from Trounson who has half a second over third placed Andrews.. Quinn, McConnell and Danny Higgins having a busy tussle over fourth place
  • 1709 - Houwen enjoying the clear air with a 1m33 on the opening lap and had 8-tenths over Trounson at the end of lap one
  • 1707 - Houwen leads them through turn one, Trounson second and Andrews in third after skying the front wheel when the lights went out
  • 1705 - Only one race remaining today, the final Superstock encounter for the day will send the day out with a bang...
  • 1659 - Points decided thus far for classes already finished for the day... Points - 125 - Nakedbike - Supersport - Sidecar - FX Cup - Superbike
  • 1657 - McMartin takes the win and the Pro Twin series while Mark Willis managed to hold out Paul Roe to take second place with a 28.52 on his last lap.. Roe the fastest lap of the race though with a 27.45 even though he could only take third place in the race, followed home by Van Rooyen, Johnston, Fripp and Smith
  • 1649 - Pro Twins race underway now, Willis two seconds behind McMartin in second place wit six laps to run
  • 1639 - Jamie leads the points race on I believe 269 points from Holland on 232, Stroud is in third place on 173 points, Bugden next on 166.5 then it is Dan Stauffer (150), Charlton (147.5), Johnson (126.5), Maxwell (122).  TBC
  • 1636 - Stroud closing on Bugden... Taking a small amount of ground on him at each turn.... Into the final turn Stroud is right on the tail of Bugden but it is the PTR man that has the grunt to the line to take that second place, Stroud third, Charlton fourth, Holland fifth then it was Giles, Maxwell, Waters, Etheridge
  • 1635 - Bugden has responded to the challenge from Stroud and has pulled a few bike lengths out on the Kiwi and should hold on to second place.  Charlton fourth, Holland fifth, Giles sixth then it is ten seconds back to seventh place Maxwell who still has Waters on his tail, Etheridge much further back in ninth place
  • 1634 - Holland can't hang on to Charlton and down in fifth place but is in front of Giles.... Jamie has 15 seconds on the field....
  • 1632 - Bugden looks to be having a few chatter problems on the Yoshimura Suzuki.... Stroud looks smooth in comparison and Bugden will have his work cut out in holding off the New Zealander over these four remaining laps...
  • 1631 - Stroud making a big challenge on Bugden for second place now.... Charlton fourth, Holland fifth, Giles sixth, then it is eight seconds back to Maxwell who is starting to come under attack from Waters
  • 1629 - Holland and Charlton both past Gilesy now.... Maybe that arm pump has come again to haunt Gilesy in this one... That four months off the bike is hurting the three time champion here this weekend.... Allerton into the pits to retire.... Not sure what the problem is but that complete a disaster weekend for the Joe Rocket Honda squad...
  • 1627 - Stauffer leads by 10 seconds with 8 laps to run... Stroud on the back of Giles... Hold that.... Stroud through on Giles to move up to third place.... Stroud on Pirelli rubber while the PTR Suzuki men on Dunlops....
  • 1626 - Stroud up the inside of Holland... Holland needs all the points he can get and that will be a blow....
  • 1625 - Stauffer leads by nine seconds now... Bugden and Giles nose to tail and Holland and Stroud right there also... Charlton a couple of bike lengths further behind in sixth place but with a healthy buffer over seventh placed Maxwell
  • 1623 - Jamie leads by the complete length of the straight between turns 8 and 9...  Stroud closing in on Holland...  Allerton laying thick black lines of Michelin in his efforts to hold out tenth placed Etheridge
  • 1621 - Bugden, Giles and Holland all nose to tail.... Holland will try and make a move on Giles soon I reckon....  Stroud just ahead of Charlton then a gap back to Maxwell who has 1.5 seconds over eighth placed Waters who in turn has 5 seconds on Allerton who is being chased by Etheridge
  • 1619 - Jamie is out in clear air and taking advantage of it while Bugden leads a big group of riders, it is Bugden in second closely followed by Giles, Holland, Stroud and Charlton all fairly tightly packed... 13 laps to run
  • 1617 - 22.999 to Jamie on lap two, next best was Holland with a 24.15 in fourth place and looking for a way past Gilesy as Bugden moves up to second place.  Stroud and Charlton not far behind them...
  • 1616 - Jamie pulling an escape act already this time around... Bugden looking for a way past Giles,  Holland in fourth place and right there also, less than two weeks since Holland had a plate and ten screws put in his collarbone and there is no rest at this tight Winton circuit making things especially difficult for the #83 Honda man
  • 1615 - Jamie through to the lead now, Stroud in fifth place behind Holland. 28.4 to Jamie on the opening lap from a standing start
  • 1614 - Away they go... Gilesy leads them into turn one from Jamie and Robbie...  Shawn had big arm pump problems in race one, something he has never suffered from before but the long time off the bike is taking its toll today...
  • 1611 - Superbikes on their warm up lap now,  slightly cooler track temp this time around, down to around 37c
  • 1554 - Fraser puts in a 28.03 on the penultimate lap and and takes the win by Prest who put in a 28.02 in his quest to chase him down on the last lap.. Domaschenz third then it was Sali, Van Rooyen, Pertzel, Whiteley, Bonthorne, McConnell and Barnes takes tenth place to salvage some points after that first turn lap one excursion that put him at the back of the field which means it will go down to the wire at Eastern Creek in four weeks time
  • 1553 - With a couple of laps to run it is Fraser with a narrow lead over Brendan Prest. Domaschenz 2 seconds down in third place... Sali further back in fourth with half a second over Van Rooyen
  • 1545 - No red flag so it is Domaschenz leading from Prest, Fraser, Sali and Van Rooyen
  • 1543 - A heap of riders down at turn one and others riding across the grass... Barnes was caught up in it but rejoined the tarmac at the back of the field which will cost him dearly in the points... He will be hoping for a red flag due to stricken machinery....
  • 1537 - FX Cup race up next then Superbikes
  • 1533 - Treasure leads the series on 246 points ahead of Soutar on 241 and Sellar on 240 setting up a great decider at Eastern Creek next month
  • 1530 - Both front men lighting up the fat rear slick of their machines out of the way of the turns, nice to watch.  Soutar takes the win on combined time by 9 seconds, Sellar second, Treasure third then it is Hutchinson, Knight, James, Alton, Brown, Grubb, Lawrance, West, Levy
  • 1528 - Sellar continues to lead on the track but Soutar leads by nine seconds on combined times and is right behind Sellar on the track... Some smoke coming from the back of Soutar's machines at times though, just a wisp and could just be tyre smoke...
  • 1523 - Sellar leading on the track after one lap and on combined time he is fifth and Soutar leads by 5.4 seconds on combined time from both legs... Confused yet...?
  • 1521 - Away again now in this two part race, six laps in this leg.. Knight leads the way from Soutar
  • 1516 - Sidecar re-start should be away shortly
  • 1505 - Goldie then flipped it on lap three which brought the red flag out... Both rider and passenger look fine... Probably have a two part race I would guess... After this sidecar race finally gets run and done we have FX Cup, then Superbike, then Pro Twins before Superstock rounds out the day
  • 1504 - Sellar and Souter led the field over the first lap but late on lap two race leader Sellar spun out at turn eight and was shuffled back to sixth place... So Soutar leads by four seconds over Goldie in second with seven laps to run...
  • 1448 - We believe the finishing order will be......TBC..... Aitchison, O'Halloran, Stauffer, Crowe, Waters, Allerton, Shirriffs, Seaton, Geronomi, Greedy, Kelly, Clarke, Smith, Carr, Casella, Stalder...  Goldsmith doesn't score due to being the cause of the red flag...
  • 1448 - Race declared after 14 of the 17 laps... So if the red flag was not due to Allerton the score will go back one lap and thus he may still get sixth position....
  • 1447 - Red flag is out, both of those aforementioned riders looked fine so it could be the fact that one of their machines is in a dangerous position...
  • 1446 - Allerton down.  That promotes Shirriffs to sixth place. Goldsmith down out of 15th place also.
  • 1445 - Stauffer up the inside of Crowe at the second last turn on the three kilometre track to take third place.... O'Halloran could be his next target but he has three seconds to regain if he is to get on terms with his young team-mate... There will be no catching race leader Aitchison though unless Aitchison makes a big mistake...
  • 1443 - Stauffer is not content in that fourth position, having a go now ad on lap 12 pulled back 8-tenths on Crowe in that one lap...
  • 1442 - Aitchison still reeling off 24s, his lead now out to three seconds. Crowe has 1.4 seconds on Stauffer, Waters 3 seconds behind Stauffer..  The real action is happening in the battle over sixth place between Allerton and Shirriffs, both riders very sideways on corner entries and putting on a good show for the crowd
  • 1440 - Jamie has put his head down again now, a 24.7 to pull 3-tenths back on Crowe, seven laps to run, that 24.372 to Aitchison broke the lap record he set in race one
  • 1439 - Seaton has lost a little pace now... Allerton and Shirriffs both go by and the pair engaging in their own battle over sixth place.  Another new fastest lap to Aitchison, 24.372 to extend his lead over 2 seconds... Crowe has 1.7 seconds over fourth placed Stauffer
  • 1437 - As they pass the halfway point Aitchison has a 1.4 second buffer over O'Halloran.  Crowe has 1.8 seconds over Stauffer, Waters trying to chase down Jamie but he has his work cut out for him. Staring retires to the pits
  • 1436 - Waters has escaped from Seaton now and Allerton attacking Seaton from behind.. Shirriffs there also and not out of the game in that tussle
  • 1434 - New fastest lap of the race to Aitchison on lap six, a 24.582, his lead now 8-tenths.  Crowe has pulled away from Stauffer, the Sydney Steel and Mesh rider now has a 1.3 second buffer over the newly crowned 2006 Australian Supersport Champion
  • 1432 - 6-tenths now the lead held by Aitchison over O'Halloran. Crowe and Stauffer are more than two seconds down on the two front runners. Seaton and Waters trading places at various points of the circuit as Allerton and Shirriffs watch them from behind
  • 1430 - Aitchison leads by half a second with 13 laps to run, Stauffer all over Crowe and challenging for third place then it is Chris Seaton in fifth just ahead of Waters and Allerton.  Shirriffs doing well also on the Suzuki in eighth place and running with Seaton, Waters and Allerton
  • 1428 - Staring down at turn 8.. Gets going again but right at the back of the field now... Michelin boys really struggling with their front tyre and no Michelin runner can match the pace of the Dunlop shod Yamahas
  • 1427 - Stauffer up to fourth now and Dunlop 1-2-3-4... Aitchison cracked a 29.684 from a standing start to enjoy half a second advantage over O'Halloran by the end of lap one.  Seaton takes Staring for fifth late on lap two... O'Halloran quickest man on lap two, a 25.15 to pull a couple of tenths back on Aitchison... Crowe 1.2 seconds down in third then it is half a second to Stauffer, 1.2 seconds to Seaton in fifth and Waters attacking Staring for sixth place, Shirriffs eighth
  • 1425 - Supersports are away!  Crowe leads the field through turn one with Aitchison in behind but Aitchison takes the lead into turn three, O'Halloran third, Staring fourth, Stauffer fifth
  • 1406 - Cartwright got down to the 27s in this race, a 27.584. The best lap in this one by Willis on the BMW was 28.48 and the next quickest man in this race was Van Rooyen with a best of 29.72.  Cartwright the winner, Willis a clear second place, Van Rooyen a clear third place then it was Fripp, Corpe, Loly, Smith, Webster, Middleton, Johnston, Ward, Cane, Gibson.  Cartwright the champion
  • 1403 - Phillis again with problems, Cartwright has finally got the better of Willis and is pulling away out in front
  • 1401 - Cartwright still on the tail of Willis but yet to make a passing move.... Van Rooyen five seconds behind in third place and a similar gap again back to fourth placed Phillis
  • 1359 - Willis still holding off Cartwright.. Both men in the 33s on the first lap and backed that up with 28s on the second lap...
  • 1357 - Willis again gets the best run off the line in the Nakedbike class and is holding off Cartwright on the opening lap...
  • 1349 - Galvin and Hatton now tied on 320 points, Simmonds on 317 points.... How close is that at the top of the table.... Rigoli on 263 points in fourth, Thompson on 261, Moller 233, Campbell 231, Esler 177
  • 1348 - Rigoli nearly highsides, cost him a little time.. Still on Galvin late on the final lap.... The top trio run to the line.... Rigoli again nearly highsided in the final turn which cost him second place, so Moller second, Rigoli third, Simmonds fourth, Gross fifth then it was Scott, Hatton, Wilkinson, Thompson, Dunn, Campbell, Metcher, Sutherland.
  • 1347 - They get the last lap board and Galvin under heavy attack from Rigoli and Moller but the youngsters are tripping each other up which could play into Galvin's hands.... Gross and Simmonds will fight over fourth....
  • 1343 - Galvin still leading the way from Moller, Rigoli, Simmonds and Gross... Three laps to run..  Glenn Scott has pushed Hatton back to seventh
  • 1340 - The top five are really close now and swapping places left, right and centre... Galvin in the lead now from Moller, Simmonds, Rigoli and Gross... Hatton a very distant sixth
  • 1339 - The top four have closed up a little now... Gross trying to stick with them in fifth.... Half a second covers the leading quartet with six laps to run..  Championship leader Hatton down in sixth place and needs the others to get the better of Galvin here today in this final 125 race of the round.... And Rigoli takes the lead!
  • 1337 - As they start lap two Galvin has half a second over Rigoli who in turn has two-tenths on Simmonds, then 7-tenths to Moller, Gross fifth then it s Hatton, Wilkinson and Thompson
  • 1336 - Galvin gets the holeshot again and had a huge lead by turn one from Simmonds and Rigoli
  • 1333 - We will now magically switch to the correct time zone :->   125s on their warm up lap now
  • 1125 - You might have noticed by now that I am still on WA time, sorry about that...  Here are all the results from the races held thus far this weekend...

Race 2 - Twins - Superstock - 125 - Nakedbike - Sidecar - FX Cup
Race 1 - 125 - Nakeds - Sidecar - FX - Twins - Superstock - Supersport - Superbike

  • 1112 - Lunch break now
  • 1100 - Jamie celebrates a dominant win with a great mono down the pit straight... Bugden holds on to second from Giles, Stroud fourth, Holland fifth then it was Allerton, Waters, Maxwell, Etheridge, Roe, Odendaal, Gurowski, Tozer, Manning, Charlton, Higgins....  Jamie now leads the series by 28 points
  • 1058 - Last lap board now... Jamie leads by ten seconds... Gilesy getting within striking distance of Bugden for second..... Holland trying to take fourth place back from Stroud...
  • 1054 - Stroud through on Holland for fourth now so it is Suzuki 2-3-4 now... Gilesy is pulling some ground back on Bugden now...
  • 1052 - Charlton down!  He has been carrying great entry speed but it has bit him and he is down... So Bugden in a comfortable second place now with a three second buffer over his team-mate
  • 1051 - Bugden hasn't give up the chase on Charlton yet...The gap between the two around half a second but they are more than 7 seconds behind Jamie now... Giles still fourth from Holland and Stroud.  Allerton and Maxwell tussling over seventh.....
  • 1047 - Jamie leads by five seconds now.... Bugden 8-tenths behind Charlton, Giles holding off Holland and Stroud....
  • 1045 - Charlton up to second and getting away from Bugden little by little... Jamie reeling off 22s to pull away out in front.. Charlton the next fastest down to 23.45 on lap seven....10 laps to run...
  • 1043 - Jamie has clear air and the result is a 22.24 as soon as he hits the lead... Blows away the Superbike lap record and also the V8 Supercar lap record... He pulls out two seconds on Bugden who is starting to come into danger from Charlton who is closing... Holland and Stroud are right on Gilesy... Charlton starting to attack Bugden now...
  • 1042 - Jamie down to 23 now also and takes the lead from Bugden.... He might disappear from here.....  Charlton up to third!!!
  • 1041 - Stroud has put down the fastest lap thus far!  A 23.748 to the Kiwi Suzuki rider, Charlton also down to 23... They are the only two down to 23s as yet...
  • 1040 - Jamie all over Bugden.... Charlton and Stroud closing on Holland now....
  • 1038 - Still Giles, Bugden, Holland, Jamie, Charlton, Stroud late on lap two.... Stauffer up to third though at the penultimate corner and out after the Suzuki men....  Maxwell up to seventh..... Bugden into the lead.... Jamie up to second to push Giles back to third....
  • 1037 - Jamie still fourth as the first lap draws to a close... He would need clear air to run those fantastic lap times he did yesterday so this means we could have a race here today.... At the start of lap two Bugden goes up to second to make it a Yoshimura Suzuki 1-2.... Charlton fifth, Stroud sixth, Waters seventh, Maxwell eighth...
  • 1036 - Gilesy gets the holeshot and leads the field through turn one from Holland, Bugden and Jamie is fourth
  • 1035 - The Superbike field is lacking a little here today.... Krusty is out.... Dan Stauffer is out...Johnson is out... Holland is battling with injury... Giles is returning after a few months off and still getting back up to full speed....
  • 1030 - Holland's collarbone was plated with ten screws less than two weeks ago and the tight turns here could prove a challenge... Will he be able to take it up to Jamie Stauffer....?  On qualifying form Rossi would have trouble keeping with Jamie here this weekend and the warm weather will prove friendly to the Dunlop runner so at this stage of the game the question really should be not if Jamie will win.... But by how much will Jamie win and will he lap the backmarkers twice....?
  • 1020 - Superbikes up next
  • 1018 - Fraser wins on the track but after the penalty gets fourth place... Whiteley inherits the win from Domaschenz, Pertzel scores a podium and Fraser fourth after the penalty then it is Trounson, Barnes, Prest, Van Rooyen, McConnell, Bonthorne, Robinson, Parry, Prest, Hatch, Nicholson, Panayi
  • 1016 - Prest ran in too deep and lost some position on the penultimate lap....  Trounson up to fifth, Pertzel fourth...  Fraser might manage fourth after the penalty if he pulls out a ripper last lap...
  • 1015 - Two laps to run and Fraser has 4.7 seconds on Whiteley on track... With the penalty Fraser will be ranked seventh... If he keeps his pace he might be able to manage fifth or better after the penalty is applied...
  • 1013 - Fraser down to 27.6 now... On track he leads by four seconds but after the penalty he currently lies in 10th place.... Four laps to run... He needs to make that buffer larger to score good points after that penalty....
  • 1012 - Fraser stretched his lead out to 2.5 seconds on lap three with a 28.000.  Whiteley in fourth place put in a ripper of a lap to escape a little from Trounson and Prest, a 28.16... With the penalty taken into account that put Whiteley in second place behind Domaschenz and closing rapidly...
  • 1010 - Six laps to run and Domaschenz is up to second place and only 1.3 seconds behind Fraser and one second ahead of Barnes.  Trounson, Whiteley and Press having a hectic tussle over fourth place and Chris Sali and Scott Pertzel not far behind that group...
  • 1009 - Fraser jumped out of the hole well in the FX Cup race but it was deemed to be too early and thus he scores a ten second penalty... Barnes was 1.7 seconds behind at the end of lap one and with seven laps to go it was not out of the question that he might be able to build more than a ten second buffer to still secure victory... Prest in second place and under attack from Trounson on the smaller 600
  • 1057 - FX Cup race up next, then the big boys come out to play!  Should be less than half an hour until the first Superbike race kicks off
  • 1056 - Sellar takes the win in the end by 4 seconds over Treasure, Soutar home third then it was a country mile to Knight, Hutchinson, Bruce, James, Alton
  • 1051 - Sellar backs that up with a 30.08 but Treasure also down to quick times again now, a 30.37 has seen him pull away from Soutar considerably, three to run...
  • 1050 - Sellar stamping his authority now though and put in a great lap five to pull 2 seconds out on his pursuers in a single lap!  The two fighting over second slowed each other up a little while Sellar put in a 30.4 to take advantage of that fact...
  • 1048 - Sellar challenging for the lead..... He takes it... Treasure has arrived also to make it a three-way tussle for the lead.... Five laps to run and the triumvirate are covered by only 2-tenths of a second!
  • 1047 - Treasure was quickest man on lap two and also on lap three to start closing back in on Sellar and race leader Soutar...
  • 1046 - Sellar closing on Soutar now... Pulled nearly a second back on the race leader on lap two to reduce the margin to only 7-tenths of a second. Treasure still third and now with a little more ground over Goldie
  • 1044 - Souter doing an escape act...Sellar has got away from Treasure who is coming under increasing attack from Goldie
  • 1043 - Sellar gets a good run off the line but Soutar quickly through to the lead as the two Ssangyong sponsored machines behind them engage in their own tussle
  • 1040 - Sidecars up shortly
  • 1032 - So Cartwright wins from Van Rooyen, Phillis, Fripp, Willis, Corpe, Smith, Wolfenden, Gibson, Webster, Loly, Ward, Johnston, Mills, Middleton and Cane
  • 1025 - I believe that may have given Jon Cartwright the Nakedbike Championship...  Collins being attended to by medical personnel, at a glance I would guess he may have done an ankle....  Race declared and only half points may be awarded according to the timing so Cartwright may not have the series and as the results go back a lap Phillis may indeed score a podium after all despite his machine problems!
  • 1023 - Collins down the road in the tight section on the KTM, he is up and okay... Phillis has some problems again..... That's disappointing, twice in two days, perhaps he has been grinding through the cases again and taking out the electrics as he has already done some times this year.... Red flag... Possibly because of the KTM in the middle of the track.... Not sure as yet...
  • 1020 - Willis was seven seconds slower than his best lap which was a 28... Possibly the shifter gone as he doesn't appear to be changing gears.....  Cartwright has a great lead and can cruise it from here....  Phillis is chasing Van Rooyen hard over second place though... Despite the 25 year age difference of their machinery!
  • 1019 - Phillis has got ahead of Corpe and Fripp to move up to fourth place now and has the old Suzuki down to a 30.3.  Willis lost four seconds on one lap, maybe a gearbox problem as he looks to being having trouble getting out of the slower turns... Losing more places now....  Van Rooyen up to second, Phillis in third!
  • 1017 - Cartwright having a look at Willis at the end of turn nine but thinks better of it, so the BMW continues to lead the way... Cartwright will not take any unnecessary risks in his chance to get a points advantage over the injured Rattenbury.... Willis has some dramas with the BMW now on lap three.... Not sure what the issue is but he has visibly slowed a great deal and Cartwright takes the lead easily
  • 1016 - The Forgotten Era machines livening up this field greatly... Corpe in fourth place and tussling with the Aprilia mounted Van Rooyen and Robbie Phillis in the game also and ahead of Fripp at the end of the first lap
  • 1015 - Willis again gets the BMW shaftie out of the hole the best... Rattenbury missing from the front row after that start line incident yesterday that left him a bit banged up and with a couple of cracked ribs I think.. The BMW leads the way and Willis will make it very wide to keep the Yamaha men behind him as long as he can because as soon as they get past they will get away....
  • 1011 - Nakedbikes up next...
  • 1003 - Galvin to the lead at turn one as they start the final lap... Rigoli then through on Simmonds at turn 5 to shake up the order.... The top three nose to tail under brakes for turn 8.....  Think Galvin will get it.... Slipstream to the line..... Galvin gets the win, Rigoli second and long time race leader Simmonds third, Moller six seconds further back in fourth, Gross 5th, while Wilkinson just got Hatton to take sixth place in the drag race to the line.... That will cost Hatton as Galvin is closing rapidly on the championship leader... Campbell 8th then it was Dunn, Metcher, Sutherland and Malley was the last finisher home
  • 1101 - The top three separated by only half a second now.. Moller a further 1.5 seconds down.  Gross five more seconds down in fifth with a 9 second advantage over Hatton, the WA youngster not doing well this weekend at Winton, he has been riding a Superbike in his home state and is struggling to adapt back to the 125
  • 1058  - The top three all into the 29s.... Moller losing touch a little with them... Galvin has responded to the challenge of Rigoli and edged away to close back up on Simmonds
  • 1056 - Simmonds leading the way from Galvin, Rigoli and Moller both coming on strong and about to challenge Galvin... Cath down!  She is quickly up and trying to get going again, Winton not a good track for Cath
  • 1053 - Simmonds takes the lead under brakes for turn nine late on lap one
  • 1052 - 125s away... Galvin gets the jumps off the line from pole-sitter Simmonds
  • 1040 - Stauffer was looking for a safe way past Crowe throughout the final lap but was not putting himself at risk as fourth would be good enough to secure him the title... They drive down the straight but Crowe gets the podium but Stauffer wins the title.  The race win to Aitchison, O'Halloran second, Staring fifth then it was Waters, Allerton, Geronomi, Seaton, Greedy, Kelly, Clarke, Shirriffs, Jones, Casella, Goldsmith
  • 1038 - Two to run and Aitchison leads by four seconds over O'Halloran who in turn has 1.6 seconds on Crowe who now has his hands full with Jamie Stauffer
  • 1037 - Sam Smith went for a grass excursion to lose his 13th place and get shuffled down the field. Mick Kelly and Craig Shirriffs tussling over 11th place
  • 1036 - Allerton has got away from Seaton who is under heavy attack from Geronomi now in a battle over eighth
  • 1035 - Three to run... The gap between third placed Crowe and fourth placed Stauffer down to 9-tenths now...
  • 1034 - Aitchison leads by 3.6 seconds now.  Crowe 1.3 seconds behind O'Halloran and 1.4 seconds ahead of Stauffer... Four laps to run
  • 1033 - Another 24.64 for Stauffer the next time around... How's that for consistency!  Only good enough to reduce the gap to Crowe to 1.5 seconds though as the Sydney Steel and Mesh man put in a 24.8 on the same lap.  Best battle on the track unfolding over seventh place between Seaton and Allerton, Geronomi becoming a factor in that tussle also
  • 1031 - Stauffer is clear of Staring now to get back into the 24s with a 24.64, he has 1.7 seconds to make up to third place Crowe but fourth place will be good enough for the title
  • 1029 - Aitchison backed up that new 24.464 lap record with a 24.568 on the next lap.  The only men to cut a 34 so far in this race is Aitchison, O'Halloran, Crowe and Stauffer.  But Aitchison the only man still down in that 24 bracket
  • 1027 - 24.4 for Aitchison on lap eight, the gap to O'Halloran stretched out to 1.76 seconds as a result... Staring still looking for a way past Staring...  He has done it.... Stauffer through to fourth place as they start lap 10... I believe that fourth place could be enough to secure him the Supersport title here and now if he holds it to the flag...
  • 1025 - 24.6 to Aitchison for a new fastest lap, 24.639 to be exact but O'Halloran a whisker slower, 24.694... Not much difference there but the gap between the men is 1.15 seconds with 10 laps to run.  Crowe a further 1.3 seconds behind and Stauffer right on Staring now and about to make it Yamaha 1-2-3-4
  • 1023 - Stauffer slowly inching closer to Staring but not yet within striking distance... O'Halloran may be getting a fraction closer to Aitchison.  Waters and Allerton fighting over seventh position
  • 1021 - O'Halloran has got away from Crowe a little now, the gap out to a full second, an identical gap exists between race leader Aitchison and O'Halloran.  Staring has 8-tenths on Stauffer but now Stauffer has some clear air he might be able to bridge that gap, still 13 laps to run so everything far from settled yet
  • 1019 - Aitchison maintaining a lead of nearly a second and in a commanding position, a 25.2 on his second lap, 24.7 on his third lap.  Crowe getting a little closer to O'Halloran.  Jamie Stauffer got Seaton for fifth place and put in a 24.7 to close on Staring
  • 1018 - Aitchison managed a 29.8 from a standing start even with having to pass a few riders and he is looking the goods... Jamie Stauffer has his hands full with Chris Seaton.  Staring trying to get on terms with Crowe to challenge for third place
  • 1016 - Revs rise, away they go, Crowe get a good run off the line but the flyweight O'Halloran leads them into turn one and Aitchison slips past Crowe, Staring fourth.  Aitchison manages to get by O'Halloran after a few turns with the pair both remaining upright... this time around....  Aitchison took a couple of bike lengths out of O'Halloran through the tight section around the back of the circuit and leads by half a second as they start lap two, Crowe third then it is Staring, Seaton, Stauffer, Geronomi, Allerton, Shirriffs and Waters
  • 1015 - Supersport men away shortly....
  • 1005 - Full Results from this morning thus far, Supersport race one is up next - Twins R2 - Superstock R2 -
  • 0955 - Andrews now enjoys a 50 point lead over Trounson who in turn has 34 points over Quinn with one more race to go for the weekend and then of course another three at Eastern Creek next month in the finale
  • 0953 - Carr down to 29.3 on the penultimate lap and all over Houwen.....  Carr through and he is going to get the podium....  Andrews takes the win by 1.2 seconds over Trounson, Carr a great third place, Houwen fourth, Yates fifth by a coat of paint over McConnell then Parry home in seventh followed by Higgins, Bonthorne, Corcoran, Cowie, Riddle
  • 0952 - Lapped traffic now... This could give Trounson a sniff if Andrews gets baulked...
  • 0951 - Brayden Carr dips into the 29s, a 29.5 to close on Houwen....  There could be a battle over third after all in these closing laps...
  • 0950 - Trounson made a tiny mistake on lap six to lose half a second on Andrews.... Might be too hard to regain that ground again but he has already done it once in this race but getting there is a lot easier than getting past!
  • 0949 - The boys not going quite as quick as yesterday but still both down to 28.6 on lap five, nobody else has got under 30, this pair the class of the field
  • 0948 - The leading duo have more than 5 seconds on Houwen now who in turn has nearly five seconds on fourth placed Carr who is then followed by Yates, McConnell, Parry and Higgins
  • 0947 - Trounson right on Andrews now, the battle is on!
  • 0946 - Andrews and Trounson both in the 28s on lap three, half a second between them but Trounson a fraction quicker than leader Andrews on that lap.  Sciberras having some problems this morning, again running out of road this morning
  • 0945 - Andrews down to a 1m29.00 on the second lap, Trounson with a 29.12, Houwen can't match their pace with his 30.2 but he is a second quicker than the next best on that lap
  • 0943 - Andrews inching away from Trounson in their Suzuki versus Honda battle while Queenslander Josh Houwen tries to go with them as they pull away from Yates, Carr and McConnell
  • 0942 - Houwen, Andrews and Trounson all got away well in the second Superstock race but Quinn in fourth went down at turn three but was back up in quick fashion to try and salvage some points
  • 0936 - The first race of the day just concluded with McMartin beating home Roe by 6-tenths of a second in what was the second Pro Twin encounter of the weekend. Mark Willis just managed to hold off Mick Johnston to take third place, Van Rooyen fifth ten it was Fripp, Smih, Collins, Marukic, Sutton, Russell, Bryan and Gibson rounded out the 13 finishers.
  • 0930 - Back up and running here at Winton on an absolutely beautiful day.  Not a could in the sky, quite warm and the cool breeze that has been evident the last couple of days hasn't arrived yet today.  The warm day will all but dash any hope for the Michelin boys to be competitive and play into the hands of the Dunlop runners. The only fly in the ointment could be the injured Holland on his Pirellis and Maxwell on the Pirelli shod Kawasaki... Or will one of the Michelin boys prove me wrong....?
