After a forgettable 2005 aboard the Rocket Racing Superbike, Redwing Honda Racings’ Judd Greedy has had a stellar start to the 2006 race season.

Riding the Redwing Honda CBR600RR in the Australian Supersport Races at the recent World Superbike Championships at Phillip Island, Greedy showed that he still has the speed, skill and determination to match it with the Factory Bikes at the pointy end of the field.

In Friday qualifying Judd was able to put himself on the front row of the grid in what was his first time riding the Redwing CBR600RR, which had only been completed late on Thursday night after his mechanics Geoff Dillon and Ben Turner had worked tirelessly to make sure Judd had the best bike possible to show his full potential.

Race one on Saturday saw Judd still working on bike setup and settling into the groove of racing after almost five months out of the saddle, finishing a great 3rd and also being the first Honda and first privateer over the line.

Race Two on Saturday afternoon saw Judd completely confident in his machine and the Dunlop tyres, which he has chosen to ride on this year. He led into turn one and was able to hold the much faster factory bikes at bay for the first two laps. Judd showed that he had the speed to run at the front with consistently fast lap times that at the completion of the race had him in a fantastic 2nd place, after tyre penalties were imposed.

Race Three on Sunday morning once again showed Judd now has the confidence and ability to lead races at the highest level. After another great holeshot Judd led the field through the first two turns. Once again a series of fast, smooth and consistent laps saw Judd post a fastest time of 1.38.00. When the chequered flag was waved Judd found himself in third position which was enough to give him a very unexpected podium finish for the weekend putting him second overall for the weekend and splitting the two Factory Yamaha’s of Stauffer and O’Halloran.

Judd now head’s into the four week break before the first round of the Australian Championships at Eastern Creek full of confidence. After the meeting Judd explained that “with more time now to prepare the bike I know that I can challenge for race wins come the first round at Eastern Creek”

After the great result Judd was also quick to acknowledge the people that have helped him get back to competing at this level after his broken back last season, “I’m glad that I can finally show the guys that have stuck by me that it was worth their while, especially my mentor, sponsor and in most cases my financier Brent Lenehan from Clearmake, because I wouldn’t have even made the grid without his support” quoted Greedy.

Redwing Honda Racing and Judd would also like to thank the following people for their support in the up coming season
• Dickies Workwear
• Melbourne Signage Concepts
• Electromold
• Valter Moto
• John Chiodo from Monza Imports
• Gary from Dunlop
• Tony Hinton and Paul Free from Honda Australia
• Michael Tabban-Muscle and Body Shape Gymnasium
