Kawasaki rider Daniel Reardon has continued on from his brilliant form towards the end of the Motocross season by taking out round three of the Australian Supercross Championship in Brisbane.

A full-house of over 10,000 people crammed into the Brisbane Entertainment Centre to see Reardon finish first in the final ahead of Honda rider Shane Metcalfe and CDR Nokia Yamaha's Cheyne Boyd.

Local Reardon was one of the riders lucky enough to escape a major accident on the first of the 20-lap final, which effectively ended the chances of big name riders Luke Burkhart, Craig Anderson and Cody Cooper.

Anderson battled back to finish fourth overall - just behind Boyd who could only manage third after a frustrating tussle trying to lap another competitor which saw him drop out of contention.

The win sees Reardon leading the overall championship points table, sitting a mere two points ahead of Boyd in second spot with two rounds of action remaining.

KTM rider Timmy Weigand is a further two points behind in third overall, with Anderson another one point adrift in fourth.

In the Supercross Masters Lites, Motorex KTM rider Ryan Marmont took out the event with solid display of racing to finish ahead of Danny Anderson and Cameron Taylor.

Marmont, the 2006 Pro Lite Australian Motocross Champion, led all the way to take the event and move into equal third on the overall standings – just four points behind Taylor.

Taylor leads the championship by one point from Kawasaki's Mitchell Hoad, with Anderson even on the table joint third with Marmont.

The fourth round of the Australian Supercross Championship heads to Victoria on October 14.
