Winston Ten Kate Honda’s Karl Muggeridge was fifth fastest in the afternoon’s first qualifiying session of round 10 of the World Superbike Championship here at Lausitzring in Germany.

Muggeridge found already a pretty good race set-up in the morning free practice which left them enough time to try out different tyres and fine tune the CBR a little bit more in the afternoon. Muggas was on within the top four or five of the leading board all session and feels confident that there is more to come tomorrow.

Muggas comments: “It’s been going pretty good so far this weekend, no major dramas what so ever. The bike feels pretty comfortable and it’s probably the first time this season we are not chasing the time to find a set-up. We still have a little bit a chatter problem in section three, and at the end of the session the brakes have reduced there performance a fair bit too, which is around here about three tenths worth. So we should be able to improve tomorrow.”

Troy Bayliss took provisional pole position and set a new best lap time (1’38.331) 0.7 tenth quicker than last years.
