Josh Brookes has completed his first qualifying sessions with Kawasaki Bertocchi and is reasonably happy with the end result. Josh will start in 21st place at the Silverstone round on Sunday in each of the two races.

“Considering I had only one session in the dry, the progress we are making as a Team is on track. My goal was to make Superpole in my first event, so I guess I didn’t reach that, but overall, I am feeling pumped about the races tomorrow. We have so much work to do with set ups and so many things to try from tyre combinations and changes to the suspension and swing arm lengths that with only one dry session it was impossible to make all the changes in such a short time. With wet sessions, the data is all wak, because the bike reacts differently, so it really is a big learning curve for all of us. With a couple more dry sessions, I am sure I can go a lot faster. My start position was determined after the first qualifying session, and with things turning wet, that was always going to be my starting place. In the last practice session, which was wet this afternoon (Saturday PM) I was third fastest. I am not taking too much heart from that because the fast guys were taking it easy getting ready for their Superpole, but still, it all helps. If it’s dry tomorrow, I’ll really get to see where I stand and how much further I have to go. Tomorrow, it’s all about getting some points”

Joshua Brookes will start from 21st position in his first SBK tomorrow at Sliverstone.
