— AMA Monster Energy Supercross – Round 10 – Daytona
Chad Reed’s TwoTwo Motorsports team will tackle this weekend’s Daytona round of Monster Energy Supercross with a renewed confidence and direction.
The Australian finally found his groove at last week’s St Louis event and showed pace and consistency as he fought hard for a podium place.
Bringing his crew to his US base of Florida for the week, Reed was able to work closely with each member and feels plenty of progress has been made.
“We’re feeling pretty good about Daytona this weekend, it’s a race I love and it’s coming at a time when we seem to have turned an important corner,” said Reed.
“Getting back on the podium was important for all of us, it verifies what we’re doing and shows that I am comfortable on the bike.
“This isn’t a field where you can just cruise around and collect a third place – you have to work for every point and we did that last weekend.
“It’s not been the best start I’ve had to a Championship but I always feel I come on stronger as the season progresses.
“We can now set our sights on moving back up the standings if we can carry this form over to Daytona and beyond.”
Reed’s podium at St Louis was his second for the year, and sees him sitting steady in fifth place in the race for the 450 class spoils.
He narrowed the margin to fellow Honda rider, Trey Canard, to just a single point, and will look to overtake fourth place with a good result at the Daytona Speedway on Saturday night.
