2026 Yamaha YZ450F

Yamaha’s flagship motocross machine, the YZ450F, receives significant updates for the 2026 model year, reflecting a renewed engineering focus as the brand targets success across MX1 racing categories globally. Key upgrades include a newly designed frame, revised suspension, and refined engine performance.

The 2026 YZ450F will sell for $15,749 with the SP model attracting only a $200 premium.

Engine and Intake Enhancements

The 2026 YZ450F benefits from a redesigned intake port engineered to produce a stronger tumble effect within the combustion chamber. This improves combustion efficiency, resulting in a more linear throttle response and enhanced rider connection between input and rear wheel output.

In line with updated FIM/AMA noise regulations, Yamaha has introduced a new air intake resonator and duct, along with an integrated exhaust system resonator, to effectively reduce noise emissions without compromising performance.

A new hydraulic clutch improves rider comfort and control, delivering smoother, more consistent engagement with reduced effort and no need for on-track adjustments. The revised inner hub design also distributes lubrication over a larger area, contributing to more stable operation and extended component life.

New Chassis and Suspension

At the heart of the 2026 model’s evolution is a completely reworked frame that prioritizes a refined rigidity balance. A revised inner and outer frame structure, including a thinner front downtube, is claimed to help provide a more planted feel at the front end, improving overall stability and enhancing cornering performance.

Paired with the new frame is a revised KYB suspension package, including a redesigned rear shock and updated fork settings. These changes are claimed deliver improved damping response and reduced harshness over bumps, enabling greater rider confidence and reduced fatigue during extended motos.
