A busy morning warm-up got underway in fine conditions at 0800 this morning at Queensland Raceway, and most competitors used most of the 20 minutes to refine their race packages ahead of the opening 15-lap contest scheduled to get underway at 1145.

I have rarely seen so many shock changes and such a variety of wholesale suspension changes being gone through during an ASBK warm-up session. Of course, this suggests that pretty much the whole field is far from completely happy with their set-up.

Track conditions during morning warm-up were very different from yesterday, and would be very different again by the time the race was scheduled to get underway just before midday.

Then, the heavens opened around an hour before the race was due to start, which was further complicated after a damaged car dropped oil. Perfect!

The oil down led to a lengthy delay as the surface was cleaned.

Glenn Allerton was then tasked to head out for some exploratory laps in the course car with Craig McMartin and the Clerk of Course, after which the decision to race would be made.

The consensus was that conditions were not safe enough to proceed, thus the riders hit the showers and kept their powder dry for another day…

Sunday morning sees another early start, with Race Two, as it was originally scheduled, slated for 0855, ahead of the final 15-lap contest of the weekend at 1355 on Sunday afternoon.
