Triumph TF 250-X engine and chassis updates for 2026

High performance Exedy clutch, new airbox, silencer and mapping, suspension updates

2026 Triumph TF 250-X

Triumph have taken the covers off the new-look 2026 TF 250-X, with fresh graphics in Triumph Performance Yellow setting the updated machine apart from the original model .

The new 2026 Triumph TF 250-X will be $14,495 Ride Away

Under the skin, we see a host of refinements and updates, including an Exedy clutch, which Triumph promise offers more direct engagement, better durability and significantly more torque capacity.

An Exedy clutch is new

An all-new airbox and silencer have also been adopted to maximise airflow, with engine mapping also updated. While max power is still quoted as 48PS or 47 hp, improved throttle response and power delivery are promised as a result.

Power remains 47 hp but power delivery is improved

Part of the motivation for this particular update is ever-tightening FIM and AMA sound regulations, which have been met, but we’re told the signature exhaust note is still there.

The exhaust and airbox have been updated to meet sound restrictions

The suspension tune has also been tweaked with a focus on improving mid-stroke control and chassis balance for better stability through corners.

Triumph have tweaked the suspension

The battery tray has been refined for easier accessibility, with the oil level sight glass also redesigned to make it easier to check.

A quickshift (up only) and launch control are standard

You’re still getting the 249 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke DOHC engine with a forged aluminium König piston and Del West titanium valves, lightweight magnesium covers, and diamond-like carbon (DLC) low-friction coatings.

TC and two ride modes are standard

Dell’Orto provides the 44mm throttle body, Athena the ECU and GET Power Assist delivers advanced traction and launch control. The Exedy clutch has already been mentioned, and there’s a five-speed gearbox, with Brembo hydraulics. A standard quickshifter works on upshifts from second to fifth.

Weight is 104 kg

The aluminium lightweight spine frame with twin cradles is mated to a hydroformed swingarm, KYB providing the KYB 48mm AOS coil forks in forged and machined 7075-T6 aluminium triple clamps and a three-way piggyback coil rear shock.

Tyres are Pirelli Scorpion MX32 mid-soft

A Brembo twin 24mm piston floating front caliper is run on 260 mm Galfer rotor, with a single 26mm piston floating rear caliper and 220 mm rotor.

Brembo provide the brakes and hydraulics, Galfer the rotors

Wheels are DirtStar 7000 Series aluminium rims and machined aluminium hubs, wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion MX32 mid-soft tyres.

New graphics are introduced on the 2026

ProTaper ACF carbon core handlebars and ODI half-waffle lock-on grips are standard, with a Sensor Dashboard including integrated hour meter. Launch Control, Traction Control and dual engine maps are also standard.
