Aprilia Australia has confirmed we’ll be receiving both the RS 457 GP Replica and the all-new Tuono 457 as the manufacturer expands its premium LAMS line-up.

The RS 457 GP Replica will be in dealers from August at $13,190 rideaway, with just a little longer to wait for the September arrival of the Tuono 457 nakedbike, which will be the most affordable in the range at $12,290 rideaway. The base RS 457 sits in the middle at $12,890 rideaway.
Tuono 457 – Stripped back fun
The Tuono 457 is, of course, the naked-bike version of the popular RS 457 sportsbike, offering a more upright seating position and a relaxed rider triangle that is often favoured for better comfort, without sacrificing any thrills on the road. There’s even an argument to be made that upright seating position can provide a few more thrills at lower speeds than the more committed sportsbikes.
Aprilia’s Tuono 457 – From $12,290 rideaway
Aprilia’s Tuono traditionally was always one of the closest nakedbikes to match its equivalent sportsbike, and while that’s a little more the norm now, particularly within the LAMS category, it wasn’t always that way.

The obvious benefit of the Tuono is a different styling aesthetic that still shares plenty of DNA with the RS, but also generally easier servicing if you’re interested in getting on the spanners yourself, perhaps after your warranty expires.

Powering the range is the 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin, producing 35 kW (just shy of 50 hp) and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6700 rpm, with 80 per cent of that available from just 3000 rpm, ensuring plenty of go where you’ll want it for everyday riding.

A dry weight of 159 kg is particularly competitive, with the bikes running an aluminium twin-spar frame, matched to preload-adjustable 41 mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable shock.
ByBre provide the brakes
ByBre provides the brakes, backed by a Bosch dual-channel ABS system, for plenty of confidence in case things get squirrelly. That’s a big 320 mm floating rotor at the front with a four-piston radial caliper, while the rear runs a 220 mm rotor.

A five-inch full-colour TFT offers access to the three ride mode settings, plus three-level traction control and switchable ABS. The Aprilia MIA multimedia platform, which adds smartphone connectivity, is, however, an accessory if Nav, music, and call management are a must.

RS 457 GP Replica – Not just looks
Setting the RS 457 GP Replica apart is of course a MotoGP-inspired Aprilia Racing livery in gloss and matt black, including sponsor graphics.

This isn’t just a styling exercise, however, with Aprilia’s bi-directional quickshifter thrown in to sweeten the deal, and offering clutchless up and down shifts. Plus, higher-friction brake pads are used on the front end for a bit more stopping power.

Plus you’ll get the single seat cowl, for that proper racey look, with blacked out swingarm, frame and triple clamp, making for a very sexy overall look. That seems like a steal for just $300 more than the base model.
Plus the quickshifter is standard!
Base model RS 457 colour options are Coral Snake Blue and Arsenic Yellow by way of comparison.
