Pramac Yamaha confirms Guevara and Razgatlioglu for 2027
Izan Guevara will step up to MotoGP with Prima Pramac Yamaha in 2027, joining Toprak Razgatlioglu in a new-look pairing following the departure of Jack Miller.
The 22-year-old Spaniard is currently part of the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 operation and his promotion completes Prima Pramac Yamaha’s rider line-up for the first season of MotoGP’s new 850cc technical regulations.
Guevara’s signing also provides some clarity around Yamaha’s 2027 plans following confirmation that Jack Miller will leave Prima Pramac Yamaha at the end of the current season.
Izan Guevara steps up to MotoGP
Guevara arrived on the Grand Prix scene as one of Spain’s brightest young prospects and became Moto3 World Champion in dominant fashion in 2022.

His initial transition to Moto2 proved much more difficult, but Guevara has subsequently rebuilt his momentum and emerged as a genuine front-runner.
That progression has accelerated in 2026. Following the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Guevara sits second in the Moto2 World Championship on 155 points, 42.5 points behind championship leader Manuel Gonzalez on 197.5.
Guevara claimed his third pole position of the season at Silverstone, while his recent form has included a podium at Sachsenring as he continues to establish himself among the leading riders in the intermediate class.
His elevation to MotoGP also represents the next stage of a relationship between Guevara, Pramac and Yamaha that began when Pramac teamed with Yamaha for its Moto2 programme ahead of the 2025 season.
Yamaha says Guevara’s promotion is an important milestone for its BLU CRU development programme, through which the manufacturer has increasingly sought to establish a pathway for young riders towards MotoGP.
Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Paolo Pavesio revealed that the relationship with Guevara had been strengthened following his difficult opening seasons in Moto2.
Paolo Pavesio – Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing
“We have known Izan’s talent for many years. The speed he demonstrated on his way to becoming Moto3 World Champion left no doubt about his potential. However, after two challenging seasons in Moto2, we made a mutual commitment around a year and a half ago to help him towards the ultimate goal of reaching MotoGP.
“Throughout that journey, Izan has shown exactly what we hoped to see. Beyond his unquestionable talent and speed, he has matured significantly as both a rider and a professional. His work ethic, determination, consistency, and ability to continuously improve have confirmed that he is ready to take the next step.”

MotoGP’s new era presents opportunity
The 2027 season brings the introduction of the new 850cc MotoGP formula, along with substantial changes to the technical regulations and a change from Michelin rubber to Pirelli, which Guevara has extensive experience on from Moto2.
Yamaha believes that a clean-sheet environment could reduce some of the traditional disadvantage faced by a MotoGP rookie, as established riders will also have to adapt to substantially different machinery.
Pavesio believes that makes 2027 an opportune time for Yamaha to introduce a young rider.

“With MotoGP entering a completely new technical era in 2027, we also believe the timing is ideal for a rookie to make the transition. Everyone will be facing the challenge of adapting to new regulations and new machinery, creating a unique opportunity for emerging talents to grow and establish themselves at the highest level.”
Guevara echoed those sentiments, while stressing his immediate priority remains his challenge for the 2026 Moto2 crown.
Izan Guevara
“This is a dream come true for me. Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how difficult it is to arrive in the premier class. It has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from a lot of people around me.
“I want to thank Yamaha for the confidence they have shown in me. This opportunity is not only the result of my own efforts, but also of the support I have received from my parents, my team, my physio, and everyone who has helped me grow both as a rider and as a person.
“At the same time, I am very calm because my focus remains fully on Moto2. We are fighting for the championship, and my objective is to finish this chapter of my career in the best possible way.
“Looking ahead to 2027, I am excited by the challenge. MotoGP will enter a new era, and I think that will create opportunities for riders making the step up. My first goal will be to learn, adapt as quickly as possible, and work closely with the team. Then, step by step, I want to keep improving and reach the highest level possible.”

Guevara and Razgatlioglu confirmed for 2027
Prima Pramac Yamaha also confirmed that Toprak Razgatlioglu will remain with the squad for a second MotoGP campaign in 2027.
That will give Pramac a combination of a MotoGP sophomore in Razgatlioglu and a premier-class rookie in Guevara as the new regulations come into force.
Team Director Gino Borsoi sees Razgatlioglu’s year of MotoGP experience as an important point of continuity as Yamaha prepares its new-generation machine.
Gino Borsoi – Team Director, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP
“We’re very pleased to confirm Izan Guevara and Toprak Razgatlioglu as our rider line-up for 2027. Izan has earned this opportunity through the progress and commitment he has shown in Moto2, and his promotion reflects exactly what this project was created to achieve: developing young talent within the Yamaha family and preparing the riders of the future.
“We know MotoGP will be a new challenge for him, especially in a season that will introduce an entirely new technical regulation, but we believe the conditions will allow young riders to adapt quickly and show their potential.
“At the same time, having Toprak continue with us for another year gives the team an important foundation. He will enter the season with valuable MotoGP experience already behind him, and we are confident that continuity, together with the work Yamaha is doing on the new project, will allow us to take another significant step forward.
“We believe this line-up combines youth, talent and experience, and represents the right direction for the future of Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP.”
A changing of the guard at Pramac Yamaha
The Guevara signing also underlines a change of direction for Pramac Yamaha following Miller’s two seasons spearheading the project.
The experienced Australian returned to Pramac for 2025 as the team switched from Ducati to Yamaha machinery, bringing considerable MotoGP development experience to a project undergoing a substantial rebuilding phase.
Miller and Prima Pramac Yamaha will part company at the conclusion of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship, with his 2027 destination yet to be confirmed.
The Australian has been linked with a number of potential WorldSBK opportunities, but there has been no official confirmation of where Miller will race next season.
For Pramac, meanwhile, the focus is increasingly towards youth and developing riders within Yamaha’s own structure.
Pramac Racing’s Paolo Campinoti said Guevara had earned his opportunity through the progress shown during his Moto2 career.
Paolo Campinoti – Chairman, Pramac Racing Limited
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, and we are very proud to welcome Izan to the team for 2027. He has earned this opportunity through his performances, his commitment and the continuous progress he has shown throughout his Moto2 career.”

The result is a markedly different Prima Pramac Yamaha squad for 2027, with Razgatlioglu and Guevara charged with taking Yamaha into MotoGP’s new 850cc era.
