2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica
KTM’s Dakar-derived 450 Rally Replica returns for 2027, with just over 100 units to be produced worldwide and extremely limited numbers bound for Australia and New Zealand.

KTM has confirmed the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica will be made available in extremely limited numbers across Australia and New Zealand, giving privateer rally competitors and serious off-road riders access to a machine closely tied to the brand’s factory rally program.

The 450 Rally Replica is not a dressed-up enduro bike. It is KTM’s production rally platform, built for high-level competition and long-distance desert racing, with development drawn directly from the same environment that continues to shape the factory KTM 450 Rally machines used at Dakar and in RallyGP.

There is a clear Australian angle, too. Daniel Sanders delivered KTM’s 20th Dakar victory when he won the 2025 event for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, taking five stage wins and leading the rally from start to finish. That result made Sanders only the second Australian to win Dakar on two wheels, following Toby Price, and he will be aiming to put KTM back on top again at Dakar 2027.

Dakar hardware for privateer rally riders
At the heart of the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica is a 449.3 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine matched to a six-speed transmission, rally-specific gearing and a Brembo hydraulic clutch. KTM also fits a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system as part of the race-ready package.

The chassis uses a chrome-molybdenum steel frame, with KTM highlighting the balance between longitudinal and torsional flex as a key part of the bike’s stability and rider feedback. Suspension is by WP, with the technical sheet listing WP XACT front suspension, a WP rear shock absorber, 304 mm of front suspension travel and 280 mm at the rear.

Huge 35-litre fuel capacity
For riders looking at genuine rally or remote-area use, one of the most significant features is the fuel capacity. KTM’s release describes a three-tank layout with 34.5 litres on board, while the supplied technical specifications list tank capacity at approximately 35 litres.

The rear subframe is a self-supporting plastic fuel tank, while the broader fuel arrangement is integrated into the rally bodywork. That layout is central to the Replica’s purpose, extending range while helping retain the standing and seated ergonomics required for long days in the saddle.

Rally-specific equipment
The 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica also features dual radiators, CNC-machined triple clamps with a 23 mm offset, tapered aluminium handlebars with rally-tested foam rubber grips, wider rally footpegs and Brembo braking hardware.

Up front, a carbon-fibre navigation tower forms the basis of the rally cockpit, designed to accept a digital roadbook system with intuitive controls and a powerful LED lighting package. The bodywork and aerodynamics are shaped around rider protection, high-speed control and ease of movement when switching between standing and seated positions.

KTM tells us that just over 100 units of the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica will be produced worldwide. Australian and New Zealand allocation is described as extremely limited, with interested buyers directed to authorised KTM dealers to place orders before local stock is exhausted. Local pricing has been set at $69,995 Ride Away.
