RXT 918 Flip-Up Helmet
An affordable modular helmet for commuting and touring
The convenience of a flip-up helmet is hard to give up once you have experienced it. Whether you’re stopping for fuel, asking for directions, or simply wanting fresh air without removing your helmet, being able to raise the chin bar makes plenty of sense for commuters and touring riders.
The RXT 918 Flip-Up brings that modular versatility to Australian riders at an accessible $199.95 price point, with three colour options and sizing from Small through to XXL.
Distributed in Australia by Moto National, the RXT 918 has been designed to cover everything from the daily commute to longer weekend tours, with ECE 22.06 certification and P/J dual homologation.
That P/J approval means the helmet is homologated for use in both its closed full-face configuration and with the chin bar raised in the open-face position. Not every modular helmet carries approval for riding with the chin section open, making that an important distinction.

Modern protection and modular convenience
The RXT 918 employs a modern-profile ABS outer shell over a multi-density EPS impact-absorbing liner. Certification to the current ECE 22.06 standard brings the helmet into line with the latest European testing requirements.
A wide-opening scratch-resistant main visor provides a broad field of view and is Pinlock-ready for riders who wish to add a compatible anti-fog insert. The self-tensioning visor is UV-resistant, can be quickly removed and incorporates a visor-lock button.
Behind the clear outer visor sits a drop-down internal sun visor, allowing the rider to quickly adapt to changing light without carrying or changing visors.

Made for everyday use
Comfort and convenience features include a micrometric quick-release buckle and a removable, washable and hypoallergenic interior. The chin curtain can also be removed to suit the rider or prevailing conditions.
Multi-point ventilation manages airflow throughout the helmet, with RXT stating that the 918 has been wind-tunnel tested for ventilation, noise and aerodynamic performance.
The interior is also Bluetooth-ready. While a communications unit is not included, the helmet has been designed to better accommodate the installation of a compatible aftermarket Bluetooth intercom.
These features give the 918 a practical specification for riders who spend plenty of time in the saddle, while the flip-up arrangement adds welcome flexibility during stops and around town.
