You know your bike club meet is pretty big when the Spirit of Tasmania puts on two special sailings accommodate you all
Harley-Davidson enthusiasts are expected to roar into Tasmania this week, as Launceston plays host to the 19th Australian H.O.G (Harley Owners Group) Rally.
Thousands of Harley owners will ride from all over Australia and even New Zealand and around the world to attend and participate in events such as the Thunder Ride, Bike Gymkhana and Show us Your Tatts competition.
The event will take place over three thunderous days, from November 6 – 8 and will be open to the public.
H.O.G spokesperson, Kim Williams said “We are trying to grow the overall Harley family and H.O.G membership by appealing to a wider audience.”
“Harley-Davidson is a mysterious brand and culture given our history and heritage and appeal to a wide rage of personalities. We want to show non-members how much fun we have so they can join us now and in the future” said Kim
Williams then went on to say “The idea is simply to appeal to people who have known about the rally but not been able to attend. To encourage attendance of the general public, we have confirmed entertainment from big name rock performers such as Jimmy Barnes, The Giants and Lowrider. As we are expecting higher numbers than previous years, we’ve also organised extra facilities and security.”
Highlights of this year’s rally include:
• Live Entertainment – Jimmy Barnes, the Giants, Lowrider and the Smokin’ Elmores
• Stunt Rider demonstrations by Matt Mingay
• Harley-Davidson 2010 new model demonstrations
• Harley-Davidson Dyno experience
• H.O.G member Show and Shine competition
• Show us Your Tatts competition
• Guided rides in and around Launceston
• The famous Thunder Run – More than 1200 bikes will roar through Launceston on Sunday 8th November
• A selection of Harley-Davidson merchandise and motorcycle related stalls
The Spirit of Tasmania has scheduled two special sailings to transport the H.O.G members and their motorcycles from the mainland across the Bass Strait from Melbourne.
The 19th Australian H.O.G Rally will be held at Aurora Stadium, Launceston. VIP rally package tickets can be purchased by H.O.G. members and non-members alike at $175.00 per adult and special offer tickets at $99 per adult.
