Blake Leigh-Smith seriously injured in German 125cc race
Gold Coast based 125cc GP rider, Blake Leigh-Smith has been seriously injured in a race incident at Sachsenring racetrack in Germany overnight. He was airlifted from the track and is in an induced coma. His condition was stabilised in a German hospital.
Details are sketchy at present, but it seems that Blake hit the bike of a rider who fell in front of him during the running of the German IDM 125cc GP event, with the major injury being to his lungs.
His mother and girlfriend fly out this morning to be by his bedside and further information will be made available when it comes to hand.
